Josh, what do you think of that ranking, since he was #1 in the 2015 class?

Big difference in moving up to 2014. I think you could debate that he should be higher than No. 11, but every class is different and IMO '14 is very strong at the top.

If it were solely up to me, I'd have him at No. 7 or 8.

But that's what rankings are for: fodder for debate.

I dont claim to be a recruiting whiz kid but 24/7 has Towns at 11 and Okafor at #8. These are off from other services especially Okafor. Scout has Towns at #7 and ESPN AT #3 and now 24/7 at #11. A little bit of a difference of the evaluation of where Towns falls into place in the 2014 class. Cant wait to see where Rivals and CBS puts him at.

If every set of rankings were the same, why even put them out? shrug

That wasnt a criticism just an observation where he has been ranked so far by the services. I do want to see where the other services rank him. I dont think he is a #1 guy but through the year he could work himself up to near the top. The 2014 class is strong at the top and if Wiggins had stayed the talk of who was # 1 would be moot.

  • Alot of people have not seen enough of this kid since he was a 2015. Now that he is 2014 he will be looked at alot more and compared to the new class.

He is a beast for his age. He is the prez at his High school. Has a 4.0 GPA and is in advanced studies.

He played against top older talent while on the Olympic team under Cal.

If there is any player better than this young man at his position wow I want to see him.

  • He is quite a player and he , I hope will play against some of the better big men in the HS ranks so we can see how good he compares to the olderkids. Like I said earlier he has played against some pros while playing for the Dominicans and was tutored by Del Harris and Cal while with the squad. But a season of going up against top HS talent will only do him good but that depends on his teams schedule and I havent looked that up but will.

    Question,

what's the criteria for ranking for you guys?

    -Current production
    -size, athleticism
    -NBA potential

etc. etc. Or is it a secret?

Largely based on long term NBA potential.
