Trey Griffey?

  • I was wondering if UK had ever shown interest. He is a WR and the son of Griffey Jr. and he plays in FL. Decent numbers 6'2 190 4.53 40. Seems like mostly Big 10 and smaller schools have offered. With Jr. having a connection to Ohio wouldnt it be beneficial for UK to get involved with a kid like this?

  • I'd say that'd be definitely advantageous for the 'Cats, but that's just my POV.

  • Yep, Griffey was a good one. He'd tell all of the MLB scouts before the game that he'd run his hardest on his first AB so the scouts could get his time and after that he was just gonna jog. He did a lot of jogging at Moeller and with the Midland Redskins...

2 years before I was born he swallowed 200+ aspirin pills...heard his dad was real tough on him growing up.

Would you expect anything else? Griffey Jr. was a prodigy. All promising kids are pushed way too hard by their fathers. It's a shame, but it's just the way it is.

That reminds me of Barry Sanders Jr. He is a senior in high school this year. So, this video (posted April 2010) is (varsity) footage of him as a sophomore and younger.
