They were only a couple of hours away from the Top 100 camp. I don't think there's anything to be concerned about.

They were visiting family in the area. Made total sense for them to visit Maryland while they were there.

No clue. All I'm saying is nothing in recruiting is ever 100 percent. I've said for a while that I think it's a two-horse race between Kentucky and Maryland.

Naive to think that Maryland has no chance. There's the family connection, there's the Under Armour connection, the Turgeon connection and the Shaq Cleare connection.

With UK, there's 1) Calipari's success with guards 2) the chance to win a national championship and 3) that Calipari hasn't as much sniffed another point guard or shooting guard in the 2013 class and it's naive to think that Kentucky isn't Kentucky. Calipari has hit on these much more often than he's missed.

  • Think most Maryland fans are just reacting to the "lock" status that's pretty prevelant on the major Kentucky boards. That's a joke. To not acknowledge how much the Terps have going for them with the Harrisons here is stupid. We have a first-class hoops arena. We won a natty in 2002. We have a hoops tradition that puts us in the tier just below the big boys - Kentucky, UNC, UCLA, Duke, Kansas etc.

The end of the Gary Williams era was chock full of mediocre - and even then we went 13-3 in the ACC in 2010. You're not going up against NC State here. Be serious and at least fake some humility.

I think you took that the wrong way. I was suggesting there's nothing out of the ordinary going on. They're close. They like Maryland. They're visiting. That's all.

With teenagers nothing is ever a lock especially regarding basketball recruits. UK fans expect them to commit to UK because of the relationship Cal has developed with these kids. I'd imagine your not real confident in your ability to steal this kid at heart. But sure there is a chance.

  • I don't think I'd put Maryland on the tier below the blue bloods.

That's Ohio State, UofL, Michigan State, Uconn, Syracuse, Arizona. I don't feel like traditionally Maryland is in that tier but maybe the next one below it.

Or the next one below that. LOL. Just messing with the Maryland fans. I'd consider them the 4th best program in the ACC with the addition of Syracuse.

Nice back track...I am not getting in a pissing match on your board, but you were responding to the initial poster asking "Should we be worried" (about Maryland)....your response was like most Kentucky fans in regards to the Twins recruitment...lets see how this plays out (and no i am not an insider by any means).

Jeff answered honestly and accordingly. He didn't insult or dismiss Maryland. The Harrison twins have been considered heavy UK leans for what seems like their 5th grade year now. They are still as of this morning a heavy UK lean. Their recent visit to Maryland is not something that should worry UK fans.

Let me ask you this (please give an honest answer the best you can) then. If both schools were recruiting the twins and ONLY the twins, meaning that both UK and Maryland (one PG and one SG) haven't even sniffed any other players at the position. Which school do you think would or should be more worried?

Btw, the ACC has been TERRIBLE for a couple of years now....terrrrrible. In 2010 it was the absolute worst BCS conf in the country. The Terps going 13-3 was kinda proof.

Then ill ask you Chris, being that Maryland was in the same situation as UK having not even attempted a plan B at PG or SG thus far. Which fanbase would you honestly think would/should be more worried?

Well Maryland has been involved to some degree with 5-star Rysheed Jordan.

Again, assuming either school is a lock is definitely not the way to go.

But I'll say this: to pretend that Kentucky is not Kentucky is a little naive. You're talking about a school coming right off a national championship that will have put 14 players in the NBA Draft the last three years and a coach that has had special success in dealing with guards and one that has put together four straight No. 1 recruiting classes.

You're talking about the hottest recruiter in the country and the "it" school right now. That's not me speaking as a UK alum. The facts are the facts in this case.

The Harrisons could end up at either school. But I have to feel that if I were UK, I wouldn't trade places with any other school in this recruitment.
