You did. My response was more directed at the general fanbase. I'm fine with what the staff guys are saying here. And not to hijack the thread on your board - and it depends on where you stop tier II in college hoops - but Maryland absolutely belongs with Ohio State and Louisville where ever you slot those programs. If that's tier III below Michigan State, UConn, Syracuse, Arizona, so be it. Anyway, looking forward to Brooklyn in November.

I wasn't trying to say the twins are a lock. I was replying to the comment made about "not much to worry about" and the reply given by Charmcityterp. UK is in most opinions the solid leader for the twins. Their recent visit to Maryland hasn't given any evidence that UK being the leader in their recruitment has changed. Hence, nothing UK fans should worry about at this time. As it was posted earlier, we are talking about teenagers so yeah anything can happen, but given the last 4 years of recruiting, last three years of winning, and putting 15 pros in the NBA...yeah, UK fans gave every right to think/feel that way.
Its not necessarily a knock on Maryland but more a statement about what Cal has been doin here as "King of the mountain"

None of those guys played for an Under Armour AAU team. None of those guys have family in Baltimore. None of those schools have assistant coaches who grew up with the recruits father.
I don't think Maryland leads over Kentucky, but I think it's very close. Kentucky is awesome and you guys have an incredible basketball program. But the twins are lottery picks wherever they go to school, and a core of the twins, Nick Faust, Jake Layman, Shaq Cleare, and Alex Len is a team that can compete for a national championship as well.
Only one coach has the twins cell phone numbers. It isn't Calipari.

So are assuming that this Teen Wolf-level of recruiting by Cal will continue for the next 10 years without pause? Forget the Harrisons. Let's just agree you lead for them. Whatever.
But this overall level of expectations fascinates me. Because with all due respect - and Kentucky is college hoops royalty - but even you guys were in the NIT five years ago. This isn't a video game. Eventually you're going to have a crap recruiting year, right?

I really enjoyed the Teen Wolf reference.
I have wondered that myself. When Roy Williams first really hit his stride at UNC in the mid-2000s, I wasn't sure it would ever end. They were literally hand-picking every, single guy they wanted for about 3-4 years but they've cooled off. Sure they're stilling pulling in their share of 5-star guys but not at the same level.
I have wondered if/when Cal's recruiting at UK will reach a certain saturation point.

This is an awful and uneducated post. Marquis Teague had known Pitino most his life. He had family who had played for and coached under Rick. Noel had family closer to both the other schools in his final list.
And what do you think their family wants for them? Spend 3-4 years in Maryland? Or be ready for the NBA and realize their dreams in one year?
Play for a top 3-5 team with a chance at a NC? Or be a middle of the pack ACC team.
You Terp fans are starting to sound desperate and seriously irrational.

You don't honestly think the Harrisons would need to stay at Maryland 3-4 years to be lottery picks, do you? They are lottery picks no matter where they go to school. Likewise, the Harrison twins make any team into a T10 team. The Harrisons won the AAU national championship with Shaq Cleare, and with other players like Jake Layman (most productive U18 player), and a 7'1 Euro who draft sites have as a lotto pick this year, they would compete for a national championship at Maryland as well. I think Maryland can chalk up a supporting cast as good as Kyle Wiltjer and Willie Cauley.
There's no need to show any disrespect. Kentucky is the most distinguished cbb program of all-time, and in this recruitment you have a lot going for you. But I wouldn't count out Maryland in this recruitment, and if you do you might be disappointed.

Barnes, Sullinger, and Jones all would have been lottery picks if they came out last year. Barnes possibly the #1-2 pick. Sullinger would easily be a lotto pick if it weren't for his back problems (are you going to argue he wouldn't have had those if he went to Kentucky?!).
