The NCAA is a bizarre organization with incredibly inconsistent rulings. How can Ryan, "I got at least $8 large from agents", Boatright be ruled eligible to play for the University of Connecticut Men's Basketball Program? In light of how they screwed our beloved University the privilege of watching Enes Kanter how can they make such rulings? I don't get it....please share your thoughts or am I just not "seeing the light."
Am I crazy?
The saddest part in all this is that the NCAA has always had a rat squad i.e. a team of investigators who will offer anything to get the dirt. They tried it in the Rose case too. I will go to my grave knowing that Phil Fulmer was a defacto informant for the NCAA and got his program whitewashed because of it.
So Boatwright gets cash and a car (which I don't really blame him for per se) before and during his time at UCONN but because he agreed to rat some folks out he and UCONN got off easy. That's actually far worse in my eyes. If you're going to go against the rules at least have the balls to keep your mouth shut and not cut a deal to save your own backside.
