After we all felt that the D was improving from the end of the year fundamentally and technically, what the hell happened.
Did losing guy and DT remove that much?
Or was it the multiple shifts employed by UL exploited a "glitch" in our shift response. Looked like in the run game the double shifts by UL caused our defense to shift to the first motion then didn't react when the motion would come back.
I'm still Judy flabbergasted.
We lost our 2 leading tacklers, 2 starting corners. And then moved our starting safety out of position. those kinds of changes have a negative impact on a defenses performance. despite a certain segment of the fanbase who spent the last 9 months poo pooing what we lost and that everything would be fine, that new guys would make all the same tackles and big plays that Trevathan and Guy made in 2011.
