The recent improvements in the level of play by this UK team has been sustained sufficiently now to positively impact its overall efficiency numbers, and UK has risen to #8 at Pomeroy this morning.
Up is the direction this team is moving, not down.
Exactly why I follow Pomeroy and not the subjective AP polls. If the can move they pyth to .96 I'll feel very comfortable going into the tourney. Even if they do that they won't have a lot of pressure on then because the media will label this team too young.
Keep improving guys! Go Cats!
Pomeroy is a valuable tool to rate the effiency of the teams but I think the AP and THE USA Todays coaches polls also pose as a positive read as to where a team lies compared to other teams. The Pomeroy is more statistical in nature than the other 2 polls I mentioned and may be a better indicator of the upward or downward trending of a particular team but the other 2 polls give me a different perspective than just looking at the numbers. The coaches poll I like most of all and though it is subjective I tend to put more weight in the opinions of coaches who have had decades of experience in watching and playing other teams and their evaluations of the rankings from week to week.
