At the end of the day, it's silly to rank a recruiting class based on the number of kids in the class (rivals.com has that in formula). Both schools are knocking it out of the park thus far. Both teams have put themselves in a position to close very strong down the stretch with some game changing 4 star players. We'll see how it ends up.

Thanks for posting and keeping it civil. That is not always the case between UK & UL fans.

These items should factor in in the evaluation process:

-the ratings of the top 15 players of the class as they will most likely be the best players on the team
-the quantity of the players should be included as it increases the chances of "hits" as players and adds to the depth of the team
-the total class star rating average
-the ratings from across all recruiting services
-the amount of offers and where they are from

It sounds good, although it would be very tough to input all this information into an equation.....it would make for the most accurate rankings though.

That being said, should UK and UL finish ranked just as they are now, there is virtually no difference in their classes other than bragging rights.....since recruiting is an inexact science. It boils down to which players actually do develop and which coaching staff does the better job with the players.

4 star Charlie???? That class is not impressive at all considering they just came off a victory in the Sugar Bowl, Cholly signed a new contract, and they are bound for the ACC. I'd consider it a big whiff especially considering Quick was basically gifted to them. The kid was never going anywhere else. If they whiff on Hatcher and he comes to UK instead then thats a big time miss considering the circumstances. UK and Stoops are picking up major steam on the recruiting trail. Ohio is gonna like a home base. Bridgewater is set to go pro after this year. UK is in good shape with both Barker(UofL once though to have a good shot) and Gillins. Bonnafon could be great but I doubt he's Bridgewater. Bolin will be solid but he's probably got a ways to go. Max Smith and Towles will be seasoned QB's in the years to come. I'd be a little bit worried especially if we find a way to beat that ass in Commonwealth come September if I was a UofL fan. Plus they're finally stepping up to what I would call high major football. The ACC won't be cake city like the Big East. Certainly don't see them getting back to a BCS with Bridgewater out of the picture and playing in the ACC. Not to mention that UofL is still not out of the woods with Cholly leaving. You bet your ass if UF opens up he'll be gone.

Didn't UL lose a couple of scholarships due to APR this year.

The quailty of football in Kentucky as a state got a ton better with the arrival of Stoops..Petrino at WKu..and Strong staying at UL.
NOt fair to Stoops to compare his class with anyones..guy has had only a little over a month to recruit at Uk..and IMo..hes been killing it! Wait untill next year..and the year after..when he has a full year to recruit the 2014 kids and 2 full years to snag the 2015 ones.. Stoops and Eliots ties in Fla will pay off big time the next 2 years...you know they have relationships formed with kids they were recruiting for FSU..now they will try to get them to come here to Lexington!
