Scouts were torn about Micah, some saying he would be a great DE, others a great DT. However he wanted to play LB and that's the biggest reason he came to Kentucky - that and the fact we brought in his brother the year before. He was rated the #2 SSDE by Rivals.

He was repeatedly taken advantage of in pass coverage as a LB. I believe he should have been moved to the D-line and he would've encouraged to grow into that 290-300 pounder that would have wreaked havoc on the opposing O-line.

But he was fantastic in run defense and was a tackling machine at MLB. He wasn't the same after hurting his knee but he was a fantastic player.

I'm not attacking Micah, just speaking reality. Micah dictated that he play at LB at UK which was not the best choice for him or the team. Linebackers have to pass defend. That's half their job. D-linemen don't. Micah was a liability in pass defense. What part of this are you not understanding?

    Micah Jones?

His profile said that he was a four star.

When he played in the ARMY all star game, he actually ran down a nationally ranked RB from the other side of the field. I was thinking wow, he is fast. But when he showed up at UK, he had lifted weights until he was almost muscle bound, he looked so tight that he must have lost his speed by getting bigger and stronger.

What's pretty astounding is the UK basketball team has 12 scholarships a year to give and the football team has 85 and we have at least 10 4-5 star players on every BB team since Calipari's been there and we've only had a handful or 2 of 4-5 star football players in the last 2 decades.. Add in the fact that there are numerous powerhouse BB teams outside the BCS schools, like Memphis, Villanova, GTown, Temple, UNLV, Butler, etc and only a handful in football, makes it even more astounding..

Astounding, dude its all about success, nothing astounding about that. If the football team wins like the basketball team, we will have more 4 & 5 stars then we ever had before.
