UK/MSU baseball FINAL: MSU 3 UK 1

Still no score as they go to the bottom of the 4th. UK has stranded a man at 2nd base the last two innings.

The bottom of the 4th ends after MSU pushes 2 runs across with the help of a couple of hit batsmen and a timely single. We go to the top of the 5th with the score MSU 2 and UK 0

A diving catch by Cousino and a heads up play by McCarthy on a ball that hit off the knob of the MSU hitter's bat that rolled into fair territory and UK is out of the 5th.

A single and stolen base by Brian Adams and a double by Maile gets UK on the board but the Cats strand yet another runner in scoring position. We move to the bottom of the 6th MSU 2 UK 1

MSU gets a run across but it could have been worse since they left the bases loaded. UK's pitching has been shaky at best. MSU 3 UK 1 to the top of the 7th.

Cats get runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs but Cousino check-swings and hits a soft liner right back to the pitcher, rally over. Been that kinda night for UK.

That guy pitching for MSU is a stud prospect. He's won about every matchup he's had this year, so this doesn't come as a huge surprise. Nothing to worry about if they take care of business in the next two.
