UL board..?

  • I just went to check out the predictions on the UL board (my first visit to that site), and noticed a link they had posted from CBS Sports predicting them to be in the Sugar Bowl v. Alabama..? WTF..... And they are ranked 25th, and favored by 15 against us!! What am I missing, is Louisville legitimately going to be that much of a juggernaut this year.... I guess I have not done enough research, but I like our chances in the game. All the predicitons over there are ridiculous blowouts. I guess my question is, will be a monumental upset to win this game as far as UK is concerned?

  • don't tell them there is no way that a team that only won 7 games last year goes undefeated this year, unless you want to get banned. Bunch butt hurt little sisters over there.

LOL.. love workaholics.. I was polite, just posted my prediction, and commented on the glaring confidence of their fans, and clearly my lack of knowledge about their team if all these projections and rankings are remotely accurate....

  • I think they have a legit shot at going undefeated only because their schedule and conference is pathetic. But then again they also lost to Marshall and Florida international last season.

Take a look at their schedule...pitiful. Anything less that 10 wins should get Cholly on the hot seat. Their record will be a top 15 type record, but most knowledgeable fans know that they are not a top 15 team talent wise. And you'll see that should they make a BCS bowl. Right now, you have some wise guys in the media trying to seem smart by predicting a great year for them, but reality is their gaudy record will be a result of a pathetic schedule.

On 9/2 we're going to give them all they can handle.

Can you imagine if they actually did play a team like Alabama in a bowl game? It would be like me punching a 12 year old girl in the mouth. Those poor little fellas would have the hearts and souls ripped out.

  • As easy as their schedule may be, they could just as easily lose 6 games as go undefeated. I think they lose their first game to the Cats (but I'm biased). North Carolina and FIU both have strong squads returning and beat the Cards last year. Heck, even Southern Miss could give them a game down in Hattiesburg. In conference, I think they lose at Pitt and at Rutgers, plus USF could upset them at home. All these squads have about the same amount of returning talent as the Cards. The key difference is Bridgewater. He's a talented player, and most of the UL hype seems to stem around expectations of his continued development. If he has a great year, they'll win 8-10 games and go to an upper tier bowl. If his play is similar to last year, they'll lose 3-5 games the Card fans aren't anticipating.

Pretty sad you refer to UofL's black head coach as Cholly. Plus if you look at their strength of schedule UK is ranked 9th. That doesn't boad well for UK. I have said repeatedly, we need to build both of our programs up in this state if we are ever going to get any respect nationally. Take it for what it's worth, the national media see's a picture of both programs that is not hidden behind opposing fans blinders.

Why do you have to pull out the race card? I've heard more UL fans refer to him as Cholly than UK fans, and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin. And I would love to hear who you think the 8 tougher teams on the UL schedule are than UK. You could argue UNC, Pitt, Rutgers, and USF, but you're kidding yourself if you think any of the other BE teams are better than the Cats.

I have never heard a UofL fan refer to him as Cholly. Only on UK boards have I ever seen this reference and it's pretty sad in todays world. As far as UK's ranking on UofL's schedule, it came from one of the other websites. I hope both teams have winning seasons it only helps both programs moving forward.

Yep it came from another website. A UL blog site. If UK is the 9th team on their schedule then its going to be a ROUGH year for them.

  • I have a white cousin named Charles that has been called Cholly his entire life and we never thought it to be racist. Who knew? This political correct sh*** just is way too out of line. This is just A1 BS.

  • That's definitely not racist, but who cares about that, what does that have to do with my question of whether beating UL would be considered a huge upset given the preseason hype lol? So as far as that goes, I am gathering it would not be a big upset....?

Hell yeah it would be HUGE, 14 point underdog on the road to a top 25 team. Not to mention its the only game on September 2.

They were talking on a sports talk show down here about a blog someone wrote about the the SEC opening wweekend need to win for thier head coach to keep his job UK is #1 on that list.

All that and the fact most media have us at 3 wins this yr and Ul in the too 25, 10-12 wins.

It would be a huge win for us.....AND I think we win....but I bleed BLUE!!!!

I'm from Louisville and have plenty of friends that are UofL fans and I've heard and seen them refer to him as Cholly.

Not a big deal and certainly not racist.

Typical UofL fan, keeping the hate alive! Only someone totally ate up with race could find something racist in that remark. And this is coming from a person of color clown.

My comment was in no way racist. Typical UL fan trying to label UK fans as racist. This attempt was pathetic. Better step your race baiting game up.

  • Also noticed on several posts in the thread over there that people kept saying we are screwed bc our ol is terrible and we are starting three fr on that ol. Did I miss something here as well, I was not aware we were starting 3 fr? Or is this just more misinformed ul fans lol...?

Yep......early in the season, breaking in a bunch of freshman. You conveniently don't mention those two teams were bowl teams also.

Yeah... seems like I've heard all of this BS before. Ask Dave Ragone how his undefeated season turned out. I remember all the smoke they were polluting the air with (and blowing up their fans asses)... and all the hype about them going undefeated (with a much tougher schedule than they have this year). From what I remember, it didn't turn out so well... the underdogs from Lexington spoiled that season in week #1. Our Big Blue Defense made a Bobble-Head Doll out of Dave Ragone... and upset the Cards on their home turf.

WE WILL DO IT AGAIN THIS YEAR!!! GO BIG BLUE!!! cheers

Uk doesn't need uofl. When uofl loses bcs status and uk continues to improve you guys will be an afterthought. When uk was ranked in the top ten a few years back and uofl was awful uk got a ton of national attention including game day. Uofl needs uk... Uk doesn't need uofl.
