UL board..?

So your baseball coach intentionally went weak against your state rival which gave you the loss huh? Got it! Boy I learn something every day. But you guys are UK and SEC. Shouldn't your "weekday" pitchers be the equivelant or better than our weekend pitchers?.....in my sarcastic tone. ;)

Guess not.... 22-2 in two games. That's gettin worked any way you slice it!!

You do know UK won the 2 games(7-1, 3-2) in the season prior when UL had a better team and more to play for...

You don't seem to understand how college baseball works.

UL has a good baseball program, it's had much better results then either FB or BB recently.

And why would UK burn a weekend starter just for an OOC game? Especially when they have a weekend SEC game that counts towards getting in the Conference tourny.

Lousivlle beat us in baseball, ok, congrats. Maybe we would have beaten you with our starter maybe not, we don't know.

Neither do you. Dont buy into the "saving the best pitchers" for the SEC games. While there is a rotation and obviously some pitchers are better than others...it's just as much finding the pitcher in his zone. Many pitchers are interchangeable on any given day. AJ Reed pitched against UofL. He also pitched against Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Vandy...just about every single SEC game. Petterson pitched against #1 LSU and a host of other SEC games....and UofL.

Reed, Maher, Peterson, Wijas and Shepherd pitched in the UofL games. While UofL didnt face Uk's top 2 pitchers, the same applies for Uk not facing UofL's. That excuse works both ways.
Most uk fans read this crap on a message board and run with it because it sounds legit. We destroyed Kentucky and some of their best pitchers available. Get over it. Football is next.

Yeah maybe if the score were along the lines of 10-7 or 5-3. Not 23-2. You could have had Felix Hernandez out there and it wouldn't have made a difference. You guys crack me up. Too much pride to swallow. 2 more days and another plateful of pride coming right up.

Yeah I only played college baseball...probably why I dont know anything about it.

Mid-week games are totally different than any weekend game. Usually teams will johnny wholestaff it or pitch lower guys in the rotation.

If a weekend starter gets midweek innings it is because he needed the work/reps and its almost like a practice session for them.

I dont know who UK or UL pitched in either of the last two years and I really don't care because they were are pretty meaningless mid-week OOC games.

Btw, your last paragraph was correct. UL had a deeper rotation and UKs was top heavy...that is why UK was very effective on the weekends and why it could have been different in a 3 game wkd series.

You have my word. Win or lose...I'll be here. Im not concerned in the least. I put Uk's chances at about 15 %. Anyway...straight from the 2011 media guide. We all know how uk likes to fudge numbers to save face. They just cant fathom the thought of trailing any school in any series before canceling it.panic

If you are looking at the 2011 media guide then you can add 3 more wins for UK. One for last year then 2 more from 1977. Ul records only go back to 1978. In 85 & 86 there seems to be a conflict in who won those games.
And how would you know how it feels to be ahead in a series against UK?
    Baseball UK leads series
    Basketball UK leads
    Football UK leads
    Mens soccer UK leads
    Mens tennis UK leads (26-0)
    Womens basketball UK leads
    Womens soccer UK leads
Softball ul finally owns a win(14-13)
Womens tennis UK leads (think thats 15-0)

UofL that year was replacing 9 guys who got drafted. We were playing mostly freshmen and Wright.

That was actually a bad UofL team.

By the way, I personally enjoyed that UK ball club last season, no matter the head-to-head thing. (Which I confess to liking).

Your guys were battlers with a bazillion last inning heroics with great hitting and excellent defense. A real never-say-die group. I know people had been hard on your coach, but I had to rate his work a solid A for the season, especially considering you were not that highly-touted going in.

And Ill say it again. Just using that image to hold me over till I put the BCS one up in January. Grab some popcorn and a comfy seat on the couch. I'll be in either Maimi or New Orleans again in a few months.

OK, so just answer me this question...

If (and I know you think this is not possible) UK beats UL Sunday, and then makes a BCS bowl because Big East is so awful will you still be posting that image?

Kinda funny how you didnt respond to my post about the UK-UL series records.
Btw I wouldnt pound my chest about winning in a conference that is about as strong as the Sun Belt.

I would venture to say that the Sun Belt is better in quite a few sports. Thats just disrespectful to the Sub Belt.

No way the Cards are deeper on the d-line than UK. You only have 6 players in the front 4 with any game experience. You're counting 3 true Frosh that have never taken a college snap in that daunted 9 deep you reference. More importantly, you only have 3 interior lineman with any experience. There's nothing but Frosh listed behind Philon, Dunn, and Brooks. UK, at least, has 6 players that have taken snaps as interior d-linemen. Granted, the quality drops off after Cobble, Rumph, and Coleman (though I would not be surprised to see Douglas surprise a few folks this year.)

UK's d-line will fair much better against the Cards this year. Cobble and Rumph are healthy and in much better shape. One or both of those two will demand double teams, freeing up Ukwu, DuPree and assortment of others to get pressure on Bridgewater, and clogging up the middle, limiting the Card's running game.

I think the Card's o-line will be improved, as well, but I like Cobble and company in this matchup. Go Cats!

    DT Returning Guys

    Stout
    Dunn
    Philon
    Brooks

    DE
    Debose
    Butler
    Mount
    Smith
    Mauldin

Without listing the freshmen, I don't see depth being a problem for UofL this year on the line. DT is thin I guess without freshmen, but we have a few of them to fill in when need be. Besides, on passing downs you could really see a pass rushing DE moved inside to help out as well.

I'm not worried about our D-line at all. Marcus Smith had 5.5 sacks last year, which is one more than your big 3 combined.

Hunter Stout was a walk-on OL last season and now weighs 260 lbs, right?

Hopefully for you guys, Philon is completely over his lingering back issues.

That's a lie... in the modern series, UK is kicking the Cards ass 4 -1. GIMME A BREAK!!!

It's lame to nit-pick "periods" in time where the record is in your favor... GTFO here with that pussified sh!t.

I'm just saying that it's kinda lame to include 6 games that happened like 100 years ago...especially when you use that statistic to somehow make up for the fact that UK hasn't done anything in the SEC in like 40 years...
