UL board..?

  • I can literally smell the aroma of fear... emitting from the Card fans.

They know what a loss to the Wildcats will do to the rest of their season... and they're zipping through toilet tissue like never before.

  • 6-6 at absolute WORST. Really worthless talking about. Nobody is going to change the others mind. All we can do is compare the whippin we hand you to the others scores of the $EC. Your alls inflated sense of your schedule is pretty funny though. Again Uk ranks 9th place on our schedule according to just about any poll. We cant help the fact that you drag our schedule down so much while we boost yours.

Preston Brown was second in tackles and a junior. OUR freshmen are 4 star Army AA studs. Yours are not. It's not even close. Dupree had 24 tackles last season Brown had 84. Your MOST seasoned LB had 48 tackles last season. Again, some of you are in for a rude awakening. Any and everybody not wearing blue blockers would give UofL the edge in every position but kicking.

And again, expecting ANY true freshman to hold down a starting LB spot is asking a ton, we are not depending on a true freshman, you are. Also, other than Brown and Dupree, none of the UofL guys or UK guys have been thrown into a starting role before this season. Their is no way to tell one unit is better over the other until it is seen on the field.

I do know one thing, If KY somehow finds a way to win on Sept 2, that will make 5 out of the last 6 in the series, solidifying who the top football program in the state has been over the past half decade.

At that point the entire Charlie Strong chest pounding will need to be put to rest.

  • Here is what ul fans forget. UK had a terrible offense last year and you had your butts puckered in the last few minutes of the game.
UK's offense will be MUCH better this year. I also believe the secondary will be improved. The only thing I am worried about is the linebackers.

I just went to check out the predictions on the UL board (my first visit to that site), and noticed a link they had posted from CBS Sports predicting them to be in the Sugar Bowl v. Alabama..? WTF..... And they are ranked 25th, and favored by 15 against us!! What am I missing, is Louisville legitimately going to be that much of a juggernaut this year.... I guess I have not done enough research, but I like our chances in the game. All the predicitons over there are ridiculous blowouts. I guess my question is, will be a monumental upset to win this game as far as UK is concerned?

There are actually quite a few people predicting either the Orange or Sugar Bowl for Louisville this year. This is not the fault of Cardinal fans, and, strangely enough, winning or losing to UK may not make any difference in their ability to make one of those bowls. How strange is that? This game is always strange. It reminds me of Pittsburgh vs. WVU. Winning the game is hard, no matter how good one team is or how bad the other team is.

I think the UK game would hurt the Sugar Bowl opportunity, if UK was to win. I see this thread has really picked up some momentum since I started it, lol.. Good to hear from some of the opposing fans, you guys certainly have an abundance of confidence. I guess my original point was, I am a little caught off guard by all this hype and declarations of dominance for UL this season, at this point I am just ready to get this damn thing started. I gotta feeling the Cats are gonna bring a lot of fire to UL, they have quite the chip on their shoulders, and a lot to prove. I envy that you Louisville fans are so confident that you are no longer predicting a win, you are guaranteeing a BLOWOUT!! I will say one thing, because I am sick of hearing it from all the Cards fans.... just because your freshman are now sophomores, that does not mean anything other than they are a year older. You do not know anything about their improvement level over last year until Sunday Sept. 2nd, on the field, in game action. Long story short, I think UL is overrated, way too heavily favored in this game, and going to be in for a grinder on 9/2!!

Butts puckered? Um, I didnt even expect to WIN last season. I said COUNTLESS times to all my uk buddies, you better beat us (last) year because it would be your last chance for the foreseeable future. You didnt...and you wont. We have just about everybody back, and you lost 3 key components on your defense including two to the NFL.

Here is what you forget. We too had a terrible offense under Mike Sanford. And I mean AWFUL. So bad we only put up 17 against FIU and 13 against MARSHALL. A true freshman QB was thrown into the fire taking his very first collegiate snap against Uk. And on top of that half our Oline was injured including our star center. Teddy showed enough poise to get the job done. This season the game is at our place. Our entire (knock on wood) Oline is healthy as is the D line that shredded your "seasoned" senior loaded O line. Newton's feet were the main reason uk even stayed in the game last year. Smith isnt HALF the scrambler Newton is. Watch the 1:35 mark of this video. Now enter 2 freshmen on that Oline. LOL

Yep our oline was healthy. Oh wait, everybody in the oline was hurt. And I love that you brought everybody back. Oh wait you lost linebackers, receivers, and your leading rusher. I guess facts are optional.

    Where to start....
You have just about everybody back?? OK, You lost
4 of your top 6 receivers
    #1 rusher (net yards)
#1 tackler, and 2 of the top 4
#1 in interceptions, and 2 of the top 3
    place kicker
...but just about everybody's back. OK.

"Newton's feet were the main reason uk even stayed in the game last year." OK, Newton gained 38 yards, LOST 60 YARDS, for a net rushing total of -22. Yep, Newton's feet were the main reason UK even stayed in the game. OK.

We rushed for net 35 YARDS last year, and you just beat us by a touchdown, with UK on your 20 when we turned it over on downs to end the game. Hardly a decisive win against one of the worst offenses in the country last year. To think we're not way ahead of last year just means you haven't been paying attention.

Wow, time to mangle your argument. Our LEADING TD catcher by LEAPS AND BOUNDS is back in Parker. Tripled the TD catches that Harris had...or anybody else for that matter had. Our second leading WR is back in Rogers. Perry is FINALLY healthy and he's a JR. WR is the absolute LEAST of our worries as is RB. We are absolutely LOADED at both. Our "leading rusher" had 41 yards against you. His "backup" had 91 against Uk. Dom Brown had a whopping SIX less yards on the entire season than the "#1" rusher. He also had more TD's than Vic. Kinda interchangeable dont you think? LOL

You obviously havent done your homework. As for LB, I have newsflash for you, your MIKE back usually is your leading tackler. He's the anchor of the defense. Yet backup Preston Brown only had 6 less tackles playing SAM. Now watch this. Preston is playing Mike this year. Bet you anything he ends up with more tackles than Heyman had last year. Hakeem Smith, second leading tackler is also back. As is Evans, Buschell, Pryor..#'s 3, 4, and 5 in tackles. Basically EVERYBODY back like I said.

As for Newton, it's not about just rushing. He was able to elude some sure tackles to get passes off. The man ran for his dear life all night and still manages to get off 255 yards. Even if some of them should have been intentional grounding. Passes that poor lil Maxie Pad wont be gettin off. Make sense? Prolly not

Btw, I see Joke finally picked a QB. Looks like Smith loss the coin toss. Newton is counting his lucky stars right now. Poor guy is STILL spitting grass out.

Butts might have been puckered only because we were the second youngest team in america last year playing on the road against an instate rival that was supposed too win. They still held on for the win.

So your offense can improve from last year but our young defense can't????? Wow guys, some of you are in for a major letdown. How did you guys do against Charlie Strongs defense at Florida?

Forgot to address this. Again we had 10-12 FRESHMEN on the field throughout the game. As in....KIDS, that were playing HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL just months earlier. You lost WAY more leadership than we did....especially on defense. We return just about everybody. Got rid of Mike Sanford as OC, and are healthy. I dont know why Im wasting my breath. You will find out the hard way. I respect your hope, but it will do little for you 12 days from now. I will return to say I told you so. Don't say you werent warned. You've never mangled anyone's argument in your entire life. As a matter of fact, you ignored every fact in his post in favor of insults and hyperbole. Which is not surprising, given the mental capacity you've displayed.

I wonder how hard it is for you to type while eating your own feces and masturbating to the team poster from this year.

Where in the world has anyone in this thread or any other posted that UL can't or won't improve?

It's exactly the opposite, in this thread and on the UL board. Some of your fans are adamant that UL has improved by leaps and bounds, while UK will be exactly the same as last year. I, personally, think UK will be improved from last year. UL will also likely be improved.

How much each team is improved is not a given at the moment, no matter how many words your fellow fans defecate onto the internet. This faux-surprise that UK fans are not terrified of the juggernaut UL football team is silly.

UL is not, and will never be Florida, no matter who your coach is.

  • I'm confused.

UofL's top 5 receivers last season:

    1) Harris, 455 yards (Junior, out for season w/ injury)
    2) Rogers, 454 yards (Sophomore, still here)
    3) Chichester, 393 yards (Graduated/gone. I didn't realize he could catch at all... Sure would like to see his # of dropped passes instead of total yards, but I digress...)
    4) Parker, 291 yards (Sophomore, still here)
    5) Bellamy, 280 yards (Graduate/gone)
    6) Smith, 207 yards (Senior, still here)

So UofL lost 3 out of top 6 receivers, one of which was a TE. I'm not really seeing any huge drop-off, as none of the production numbers to any one receiver was all that impressive. There wasn't one, two, or even three "go-to" guys; the ball was spread around all over the place with 10 receivers getting at least 10 catches on the season.

  • Is it true that UL is the only pre-season Top 25 team that doesn't have a Top 25 opponent on their entire schedule? Incredible.
