@ what? What's different? UF didn't want to be there. Their players basically said as much. This was the biggest game in uofl history. Please explain why this game was any different than the Utah v. Bama game or for that matter the WVU vs. UGA game several years back.

If we'd lost, well, we didn't belong in the game. We whipped them, and we didn't belong in the game. I fail to see your logic.

Nonsense. Florida talked smack the whole game. They nearly took Teddy's head off on one play. Bridgewater picked them apart. They were outplayed, out schemed , and out coached. Like exposed bullies, they lost their cool and made dumb penalties. To paraphrase Ali, we "whooped" them good.

Like a blind fool you ignore that the "game" is played in practice and preperation. UF could have cared less in preperation for the game. The announcers even commented during the game that UF looked disinterested.

Again, you are out of touch with reality. UofL played well, but UF played terrible because they didn't care.

To act as if UofL is a "better" team is foolish. This is the same team that backed into a bcs bowl losing to one awful big east team and a losing to an average Syracuse team and damn near losing to an average Rutgers team.

Again, UofL deserves credit. But the reason they won is A. They played well but perhaps more importantly, B. UF didn't want to be there and it looked like it.

Florida was overrated at #3, but far from mediocre. They benefited from a few things this year. First, they didn't have to play Alabama this year. They played Texas A&M in game two, and was freshman Manziel's SEC baptism. Then they got both LSU & South Carolina at home. This also was a season when the SEC East was as weak as it's been in years from the middle down, and Florida played all but Vandy at home, which ensured the automatic wins. Florida was #3 based on who they beat and when. They weren't the 3rd best team in the country, but their record suggested they might have been.

Florida wasn't invested in that game at the same level Louisville was. The lack of Florida fans who traveled to the game was testament to how little Florida thought of this game. They listened to all the hype, and thought all they had to do was show up and win. I'm sure that if those teams played 10 times that Florida would probably win 8 of them, but they weren't going to play 10 times. They were only playing once, and Louisville came to play. The Cards came prepared and with a HUGE chip on their shoulders. Florida can only blame themselves for showing up so lackadaisical and nonchalant. Louisville capitalized on that immediately and never really let their foot off the throat. Louisville deserves a ton of credit, and Florida (especially Muschamp & Driskel) deserve all the criticism they will get. Florida let the SEC down in a huge way, and played with zero conference pride. Their performance was a joke, and they should be ashamed of themselves for showing up to a BCS game so unprepared, no matter what the name on their opponents jersey was.

I for one and glad this happened the way it did, especially after the fact. I don't want to read too much into one game, but I think it helps Kentucky in multiple ways. One, now that we are making a concerted effort to recruit the state of Florida, it shows recruits down there that Florida isn't so great, and that a team from Kentucky can whip them on the big stage. Two, I think this game showed that last year's 6-7 record for Florida wasn't just an anomaly, and maybe this season was. I think Florida was exposed a little bit last night, and that Muschamp isn't the coach that this season's record said he might be. I see Florida as being diminished and that they will shrink from this point forward. That this game was the high water mark for the Gators under Muschamp, and the 11-1 regular season of 2012 will quickly become a distant memory. This helps Kentucky because it makes one of the powers in our division more beatable, just as we have some momentum building ourselves. Last, I think this helps Kentucky and Stoops tremendously for the start of his career here. When we play Louisville next season our expectations will be high, but we will also be playing a Top 10 Louisville (maybe even Top 5). That removes nearly all of the pressure of the first UK/UofL rivalry game for Stoops and Co. Will they want to win, of course. But, they won't be expected to by very many, and that will help them absorb a loss to Louisville, if it indeed happens. Things couldn't be set up better for Kentucky with a first year head coach, in my opinion. What if Stoops and Kentucky find a way to win that game at home? What will that do to ignite a quickfire?

Anyway, let Louisville enjoy their time in the sun. They earned every minute of it on the football field last night. They whooped a team that we haven't beat in over 20 years. Just ignore all the BS from their fans that will surely follow such a monumental win for them. Don't focus on them. Focus on us.

Florida's ticket allotment was nearly 20,000 and they sold 7000 tickets to last night's Sugar Bowl.

The Gator nation was very much disinterested in the 2013 Sugar Bowl....players, coaches, and fans. U of L was a formidable opponent. It just took until after the game had begun for Florida to believe it.

This. I have believed for a long time that bowl games reflect who is more motivated more than they do who is the better team. Give UofL credit -- they played lights out and Florida didn't even show up. To anyone who thinks that means UofL was the better team, over the course of the season . . . there are psychiatrists who treat dilusions like that.

Nobody has said that. I don't think the New York Giants were the best team in the NFL last year, but they won the Super Bowl.
