  • Four CB's and six WR's yet we have eight safeties and six right ends.

    bigbluerules

  • Nate Willis maybe our most important recruit left on the board. Piss poor roster managment by Joker and Co,

    PAXCAT

  • It seems a lot of positions have really odd spacing in the numbers/class. It's almost like the previous staff had chosen certain positions to recruit each year and passed over other classes.

    6 WRs - 5 are sophomores
5 TEs - 4 seniors and a junior, not counting Borden
    10 OL - 7 sophomores and freshman
4 CBs - that's just awful, including not having a senior, so even if you counted Caffey and Reed, only 2 juniors out of the possible 6?
8 Safeties - 6 are sophomore or freshman

I understand having players leave, but to me those numbers just seem off. They had a lot of classes where either players didn't pan out or left the program.

  • Some of the worst roster mis-management I've even seen. It's gonna take this new regime several years to balance this mess out.

    MinterWonderlnd

  • 4-5 scholarship QBs as well, and not very well spaced.

    KSt

  • Since the 2009 recruiting class, the redshirt Seniors of this year, we've had 26 players leave the program. That is not counting the ones that graduated. That would be 10 from the 2009 class, 10 from the 2010 class, and 6 from the 2011 class

    HardHittinCat

  • Is Cody Jones still on the roster? I know he was the backup at fullback last couple of years and didn't think he was a senior.

    bish7

  • Shawn Blaylock is a CB.

    Moves that might happen:
    Bud Dupree to DE
    Travaughn Paschal to DE
    DJ Warren to LB
    Jalen Whitlow to WR
    Christian Coleman to C
and basically anyone we can spare on D that can catch the ball to WR

  • lol looking at the WR's for this spring in Neil Browns offence, makes me realize they will have to play both ways in the blue/white game. Sad

    bish7

  • CB depth is very scary.

    Keith123

  • 5 CBs if you count Harmon, who was very impressive I thought. That makes Willis and at least 1 more high quality CB very important to add to this class. Obviously, with the O we will run we need some WRs who are field ready too. Blue, Timmons and Samples would be the jackpot, imho.

Probably will just use the base Air Raid offense a lot which uses 2 RB, 1TE and 2 WR for the spring game.

  • Maybe Justin Taylor as a slot WR? Kid ran a 4.5 40 in HS and looks like he is going to be way down on the depth chart at RB especially since the staff likes taller backs.

I don't think it's about being taller, I think it's more can a rb get over 200 pounds, run with power, have good speed, and can they catch on a consisted basis.

    Why so serious?

As RV said earlier, Shawn Blaylock is a CB so it's 6 at CB.

  • Anybody think Zach Blaylock could play corner?

    quagmire

  • Interesting that Dixon and Simmons have now been moved back to corner, but Blaylock moves to safety.

Also seems obvious Warren moves to defense since the Brown offense doesn't use a fullback to my knowledge unless they have a short yardage heavy package.

Also interesting that there appears to be no more than 6 seniors starting and maybe as few as 4.

I hope all our ends are right. :)
