I can tell you, WKU got torched through the air by Bama, and they have a former 4 star DB in Dowling playing in their secondary. The only knock I put on Bama is that they are a 3 yards and a cloud of dust kind of team, wear you down, and shove the run game down your throat, so their OL focus more on run block than pass. But no one here in BG or at WKU take UK seriously and have marked it up as a W already, and think this will be a cakewalk which is exactly how they acted during the NCAA tournament when they were about to play UK.
UK is better at throwing than Bama, if you look at recruiting, Bama doesn't really recruit top notch 5 star QBs, more lower ranked 4 stars and high 3s who are good game managers, none of the QBs they recruit seem to light up the stat sheet when theres a stable of 4 or 5 RBs with 2 of them being a 5 star and no one below a 3 star.
WKU doesn't have the depth nor the same amount of athletes across the board to compete if UK comes out strong unlike last year. Mismatches everywhere when spliting dubs and spreading it out, and not giving their Dline a chance to get going before they have to turn around and get set again and wear them down, then run draw plays will kill this defense at WKU. UK might give up a lot of yards, but a bend but don't break defense is better than one that gives up a 73 yard run to a Austin Peay RB, or a secondary that gets torched when teams run level routes against them.
Sorry this is a long post but I actually get to see a lot of practice at WKU being a student and broadcast major and doing a sports show on the radio, and I can tell you, WKU fans and coaches seem over confident after beating a very very very bad FCS school at home and then whenever they get a hard knock fumbling the football. I would love UK to just air raid this game and shut up these fans here who think WKU is the next Boise State or TCU after one 7-5 season. If UK shows up and plays hard and is motivated by last year, they will put up more points than Bama easy (if no turnovers occur) but could also be in a fight to light up the scoreboard if the defense can't make stops either.

I hate to break it to ya but UK is in trouble the rest of the year no matter who is QB. These games UK should win but the SEC is another animal all together.
Was Bama overlooking Western? Maybe a little but Western saw a real SEC defense that they won't see when they play UK.
UK just needs to win, to hell with the score.
Confidence is a big equalizer in sports and their is no doubt in my mind that Western thinks it will beat UK.
This will be a hard game to win and a harder game to lose.

Everyone is entitled to here opinion and our seem to be very far apart on most thing including what u just said. I know I set around with my big blue shades over my eyes and under my UK hat. UK "most" yrs will upset someone that theres no way we can beat.
We have 1 win, if we when this game thats 2, beat Vandy, Samford, and 2 more and for this yr thats a good yr, in my opinion.
And before everyone starts that 6 wins and I'm happy BS thats not me I want to win every game every yr, so take that some where else. But yes everything over 6 this yr would be huge cause that would mean we pulled off at less 3 upsets. Other than WK, Samford and maybe Vandy we will more than likely be under dogs by at less 7 or more.
