  • I know for a fact that you only get two downvotes. I use them almost every day.

I like the up-vote feature. Although, I do wIsh it showed how many times a post had been up-voted, similar to the positive or negative vote total at the top of a thread.

It shows the total up/down vote if it has been voted on for both posts and topics...

No, that limit is yours. the system lowers your downvote ability if you are a negative nancy who only goes around downvoting posters. normal people who dont use that feature all the time and actually use the up vote dont get downgraded.

  • Negative nancy? Nah I just do it for stupid comments. Case in point.

  • Some people even care so much that they find ways to use the upvote on them self. . . I saw a guy go from like 300 votes and like a 79 rating to over 800 votes and like a 91 rating in just a couple of weeks. . .

That's probably why I never have downvotes to use. When I get them they're used within 30 seconds.

Sorry me correcting your wrong incorrect statement and to better educate you on how this site works is stupid.

Here, despite your rudeness I'll be glad to try and assist your uneducated status once again:

"What does it mean if the down vote button is grayed out?

There are two possible reasons why a down vote button will be disabled. First, if you registered on a site other than your home team site, the down vote button will be disabled. To switch your home site, contact customer support at support@247sports.com. Secondly, if you use a higher ratio of down votes to up votes per day, your number of down votes will decrease which may leave you with zero down votes."

    +1 from me

To answer your question... the more upvotes you get, the higher your rating. The higher your rating, the more stars you get (a rating of 80+ = 5 stars). If you hover your pointer over your stars, it will display your rating and total votes.

The number just below your stars represents your total post count... below that is obvious (you've been a member for 20 months)

Btw... you will earn extra points for upvoting any poster who's username starts with BG. cheers

Thanks JJ. I would +1 you if I had any left today. Might come back tomorrow and +1 you. Also, thanks for the explanation.

I have to admit my ignorance when it comes to the up and down voting system. I have been on this site for some time now and never noticed the arrows and how to use them. Just within the past 2 weeks I figured it out and what you have put in this post really helps and i will upvote you+1 for it. Thanks Sleepy

    Haha... not a problem.

They can be fun when used as intended. If you use up your daily vote limits, you earn site participation points (I think)... not quite sure.

Anyway, just vote people up if you like their post... or you can vote'em down if you don't. Some people use both and some people will only use the "vote up" option... and some just ignore the whole damn thing. lol

It's all "UP" to you! cheers

Yes. Would again like to encourage folks to use this function even more often than they already do.

An effective way or letting folks know which threads are popular etc.
