In defense of the VIP posts... Darrell has to be able to pay Matt and JD and Chris. These guys don't travel the country spending time away from their families for free.

    Is Darrell the owner?

I understand that but weren't they getting paid before every thread became VIP? That's just recent.

  • I think it should be noted that, from time to time, sites (and many other media businesses, HBO being an example) will make available to the public information that would normally be restricted as a means to draw new customers.

So, although there was a period of time prior to now where a relative abundance of info was not VIP, there was a period of time prior to that with the same abundance of VIP material as now.

People (this term is a generalization) read all that information (the type of info that was previously VIP but made available until recently) and liked it. Now that they can't read it, they want to. The solution is to purchase the ability to read it rather than ask for the info to be made available. If one is willing to wait, all recruiting information either becomes common knowledge or no longer pertinent. People need to make their own decision on how to prioritize the importance of obtaining that information (early) and go from there.

    Romp,
Good post and very pertinent. I resent the "panhandlers" that moan about being left out of "the know" or particular conversations.

You don't want to pay the money or can't see the value of privileged membership......Fine.....But, don't whine about it.

  • This is the entire purpose of the thread merger IMO...give everyone enough free info and it kills them when they can't get it all. Been there, done that.

That's cool, but if people don't realize the reason the info has dropped off is cause they are not VIP, then it sort of defeats the purpose.

That's very true as I mentioned in another thread...there is no info which has killed any buzz around this program. I pay for it as I mentioned above but I thought these guys would have some access that Larry Vaught would post two days later...no longer the case around these parts.

  • There is definitely info out there. Im glad to see Jeff post 3 updates yesterday. There are more.

  • The only problem I have is that someone who is not a VIP may post a question and most of the answers to his question are not viewable due to them being VIP answers. It can be very frustrating. I don't know if it is meant that way or if people forget to take off the VIP status to post or what. I don't have a problem not getting VIP answers. It just seems awkward and disheartening for posters in which that happens.

The set up is kind of screwy.

If someone makes a VIP post, any response to that post is a VIP post by default. By response, I mean using the "reply" and "quote" buttons. It might also include using the "post reply" button at the end of the thread page but I am not sure. So, what happens is that posts (without quoted, as in the BB term, information from a VIP post and following a VIP post end up being VIP unless posters notice and remove the default check from the box that makes it VIP.

It starts a chain reaction. Information that is in no way VIP gains the VIP labeling and is made invisible to non-VIP posters by the system. It is a very crappy system if one wishes to allow both VIP and non-VIP to post together because VIP posts are made with no VIP info when the poster had no intention of making it VIP.

    Just plain silly.
