    Western Kentucky backed up its brash talk of a year ago, defeating Kentucky 32-31 overtime victory at Commonwealth Stadium to drop the Wildcats to 1-2 on the season.

  • The worst part is just how badly we played against a team that was FCS less than a decade ago. We got manhandled, especially on defense. We don't have an SEC defensive scheme OR personnel IMHO. God help us. Can we just call out sick for games #4-12? Tell 'em that grandma died? Baby Jesus knows every shred of our pride certainly has...

  • I am not sure had they won things would have worked out differently for Phillips. This defense can't stop anybody, and win or lose tonight (in the close game that it was), things were still going get ugly in conference play. I think they will win one more in addition to Samford (don't ask me where though). I don't see much difference between 3-9 and 4-8. After watching this team in the UofL game, I only saw one scenario where Phillips comes back next year, which is Barnhart putting on earmuffs and hoping next year could promise another bowl game. I don't think that has changed with this loss.

  • Guys I honestly think the samford game will break the record for lowest attendance ever at Commonwealth. Especially if we've only won one game as predicted. Then that will definitely make up Mitch's mind. If joker truly cares about UK he will step down. Which I think will happen.

    He's in over his head... To win SEC games you have to play well on the LOS, be physical, really want to run the FB and tackle well... Oh yea recruit, eventhough the rankings have been higher under Joker he has not landed enough at needed positions like OT, DE, LB, CB. Attrition and poor player development has killed this team...

    False. they like everyone else on our schedule can just line up and run it at will without the slightest fear this bunch of pillowy-softies have any chance of stopping them. Outrushed 4-to-1 by a Sun Belt team yesterday, a team that 5 years ago was 1-AA!

    That alone should make people consider Willie Taggart... He's a hell of a coach with the perfect SEC philosophy, at KY he could get even bigger, faster, stronger players. He loves WKU but he would come. He also has stronger recruiting ties to FLA than anyone on our staff. Mitch needs to get this done... If Mitch doesn't get a real coach I'll never buy season tickets or UK gear until he's gone...

    I have about as much confidence in Mitch as I do Joker... Mitch won't hire Bobby yet he'll hire Cal and we all know his dirt... Bobby's personal life shouldn't matter I don't know that many 55 year olds that would walk away from the women Bobby was Sougin, I know I wouldn't... F'n joke

    Come on. I shudder to think how UK will look against an actual SEC team with SEC caliber players on it. This could get really really ugly.

  • I stated on another thread a few days ago, I'm not sure it's going to matter who the coach is. UK hasn't been competitive in football in decades and it isn't likely they will be competitve in the coming decades.

    I suggested razing the stadium and playing all games as double headers at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday afternoons. Like the Bengals, make UK subject to NFL black out rules and we won't have to endure the pain of watching the Bengals or UK.

    Students would have a great parking lot where stadium once stood. And, Athletics Department wouldn't have to worry about stadium upgrades.

  • If he throws for a billion yards, it still may be 2nd or 3rd most against UK for the season. I predict 1.5 billion will be the record and Samford may be the team to do it.
