I liked Summers too, but Schlarman is a very good OL coach too. Players and recruits will love him. Here's what some Troy fans posted about him after the Miss St game this year:

TE? Or perhaps a second WR coach so one can cover inside WRs and one outside?
DC/LB Eliot
ST/LB Peveto
DL?
CB?
Three Position Possibilities
DL Prunty? Or, is he going to Cincy? Any other names?
CB is there someone out there who hasn't been named (or that I haven't heard of) or is Stoops going to do it himself? I wouldn't expect the latter but the lack of names is baffling to me.
TE or a second WR? I'm drawing a blank at the moment

I believe he played high school football at Highlands. His brother used to coach basketball there and currently teaches at Highlands.

If it helps any, Tom Leach was also indicating those same three hires (Brown, Scott, and Schlarman) this morning on his radio report.

I liked Summers a lot but if Schlarman coaches as well as he played we will be just fine..He was a great lineman..
