Watching the SEC crush it in the CWS...

  • lets you know that we play in the toughest conference in the nation bar none. The only teams that can beat the SEC so far are SEC teams.

  • For sure... so when people get down on the team this year, remember they were talented, but young, facing the best teams in the country.

  • Aren't T/X/Male/Manual all in the same division this coming year? All the KHSAA has created is a situation where there is going to be many more blow-out state championship games.

A perfect ending to this would be two SEC teams in the final with no SEC team being eliminate by an OoC team.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for and wouldn't be suprised to see happen. Infact it very well may happen if Vandy can beat UNC tonight.

  • Yes the SEC is tough but its the conference we play in. We should be able to win close to half our games. Accepting anything less repeatedly is unacceptable. Maybe this year our coaching and luck catches up to our talent. I sure hope our talent doesnt drop down to the level of our luck and coaching.

  • With UT hiring the Cal State-Fullerton coach, it's only going to get rougher. Henderson really has to step up to the plate and knock it out of the park, so to speak, next season.

It's of even greater satisfaction to the league, I'm sure, that they're doing this despite the fact the NCAA attempted to basically put a cap on the number of SEC teams that could make it to Omaha when they started doing Super Regionals. They'd set it up where a few of them would knock each other off if they made it to that round. Not unlike what the KHSAA did to make sure St. X/Trinity/Male couldn't meet in the high school football final every year. And yet, the SEC just keeps on rolling.

I kind of agree with the way the KHSAA does it, though. It's all set up with district and regional play. There's no reason why they should change it up to protect the Louisville powers just because it's later on in the playoffs.

11th Region basketball teams are annually among the best in the state, but it's survival of the fittest. Nobody ever seems to make much of a big deal over that.
