The "great dean" took the scholarship players to the locker room with 15 sec, and left the walk-ons to face the court storm alone. What an ass.

The better question is why is a team that came 1 point from the Elite 8 storming the court after beating the No. 3 team in the country?

When did Matt Doherty start coaching at UNC again? Geez, that was something I'd never thought I'd see from a Williams team. They flat out gave up.

Quality Wins rarely matter when determining a #1 seed. I don't think it will be an issue for us.

Agreed, it is not the same dynamic as football. Things change too fast from year to year, compound that with more games, one player being a huge difference maker, and a much more equal playing field, storming the field in college basketball games should be a non event. That nonsense at IU only fueled Coach Cal's "KY effect". Cinderalla's in the NCAA is the lone exception, that is kinda fun.
Even with football it should go away. . . first and foremost in that I don't like it when we do it :-)

Anytime a non-traditional power manhandles a "Blue blood" team they are going to rush the court. I bet if UF or Vandy beat us at their place they storm the court too. It's just the nature of the beast.

This is a double-edged sword. Yes, it does denigrate our earlier win over UNC.
But, it made my post game steak taste SO much more tender.
While I see both sides, I have to go with whichever makes "Cryin' Roy" cry.

Doesn't make a difference. You know how people make fun of how they rank Notre Dame in football higher just because of the name? Well there are certain brands in basketball that are the same way. We are one of those brands. As long as we take care of business like we should we'll be a #1 seed and may even draw an easier route to the F-4.

Hamilton actually suggested to Roy to take all other players off the court because he knew his fans were going to storm. Very smart actually for the safety of the players.

Unc and Indiana is a blueblood that has rushed the court.
So far....... UK and KU and even Louisville hasn't rushed the court yet.

I agree with you completely. I'm just sharing what had happened. I didn't say it was right or wrong, I honestly think it was still cowardly but I see the reasoning.

I think the concern is actually justified. It's only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or a player is attacked or retaliates against someone rushing from the home crowd. UNC was totally embarrassed Saturday, and their guys had to be angry. What happens if an FSU student jumps in a guy's face or shoves him? Something really ugly and dangerous could go down.

From that standpoint, it was no problem. There was no fight left in the UNC after halftime.

I am with you. Darius Miller was nearl at the bottom of the pile of Indiana players when the fans stormed the court. That could of been injury very easily. I remember when stormIng the court was a rare instance. Seems like now it happens on a weekly basis.
