heard on the radio today? Hirew Leach as the OC for 1mill. to replace Sanders? In asking this just so everyone knows I'm a Joker and stafff fan. Just wanted some thoughts?

Just relaying a suggestion. No one is going to hire Leach as a HC but a OC is a thought?

Leach isn't going to coach under anyone ever again IMO. He'll wait it out for a head coaching job. It will come sooner or later.

I think the point was to offer him enough money to get him to jump. It's not a bad idea, really, but UK won't spend the dough.

I don't see him ever being anything other than a head coach and I definitely don't ever see UK spending $1 million for a coordinator. A more realistic option for offensive coordinator that I would like UK to consider would be Neal Brown.

If they are about to lose around 5 million in ticket sales whats 1 million to prevent that? I don't think Leach will take a coordinator job though but its worth a shot. The downside to that though is Leach won't be here for more than a year as an OC, then where will we be?

I realize that, but Leach is a unique personality/ego. He's not going to be anyone's OC again IMO.

Jeff I'm not sure about "anyone" or "ever again" but IMO there is ZERO chance he will ever be a coach of any kind at UK as long as MB is there.
I just wish folks would let that go. It's never going to happen IMO.

Far better former HC's have went on to become coordinators. That said, no way in hades does Leach swallow his pride and take an OC position here at UK nor does the UKAA bother to contact him.
Some smaller school or non-relevant bottom tier BCS school will offer him before that happens.

Agreed. Whether they were involved or not, we will not see anyone from Mumme's staff at UK again. The same could be true for Morriss' former staff as well.

Leach will in all probability be the HC at New Mexico if he wants back into coaching. If we are going to change OCs than Neal Brown is the man I want at the top of the list.
I, of course, do not expect use to change OCs, as I am pretty sure that Joker is grooming Tee for that position and he will be the next OC under Joker. We had to promise him something above a raise to keep him here after Bama came a knocking.

They both run a different offense than what we currently run and they both run a more balanced offense than what Mumme ran for those that dread a return to the sling it and wing it style offense. I think Brown would be an excellent addition.

People need to forget Leach, he's radioactive. Yes he will land somewhere sooner or later, but it will likely be some place in Dummeland like Valdosta State.

I'm with Jeff: don't think you'll find Leach coaching under anyone.
Also don't think Barnhart would touch Leach with a 100-yard pole.

At the same time, wouldn't it be nice to have a name to transcend Kentucky football? Someone who speaks for himself and brings attention to the program? Someone who restores a little faith and confidence in the program? That is exactly what Randy Shannon would have done. So it is even more far fetched to think that Leach is more of a fit than Shannon.
