Just relaying a suggestion. No one is going to hire Leach as a HC but a OC is a thought?

I would be all for it.

I think the point was to offer him enough money to get him to jump. It's not a bad idea, really, but UK won't spend the dough.

If they are about to lose around 5 million in ticket sales whats 1 million to prevent that? I don't think Leach will take a coordinator job though but its worth a shot. The downside to that though is Leach won't be here for more than a year as an OC, then where will we be?

I realize that, but Leach is a unique personality/ego. He's not going to be anyone's OC again IMO.

Far better former HC's have went on to become coordinators. That said, no way in hades does Leach swallow his pride and take an OC position here at UK nor does the UKAA bother to contact him.

Some smaller school or non-relevant bottom tier BCS school will offer him before that happens.

I don't think Weis would have ever come to UK.

Leach will in all probability be the HC at New Mexico if he wants back into coaching. If we are going to change OCs than Neal Brown is the man I want at the top of the list.

I, of course, do not expect use to change OCs, as I am pretty sure that Joker is grooming Tee for that position and he will be the next OC under Joker. We had to promise him something above a raise to keep him here after Bama came a knocking.

They both run a different offense than what we currently run and they both run a more balanced offense than what Mumme ran for those that dread a return to the sling it and wing it style offense. I think Brown would be an excellent addition.

At the same time, wouldn't it be nice to have a name to transcend Kentucky football? Someone who speaks for himself and brings attention to the program? Someone who restores a little faith and confidence in the program? That is exactly what Randy Shannon would have done. So it is even more far fetched to think that Leach is more of a fit than Shannon.
