Below is a speech that I would use to rouse the troops.
I would play everyone else except Poythress or Goodwin. If you can't figure out to play hard or friggin' jump stop/stay in control of your own body by this point of the season then you are on the bench. Either move on to the NBA, figure it out next for next yr, or ride the bench next yr. Those are the only 3 options these 2 have.
At this point I am looking for effort, guts, and fight. Show me those things and you would play. I'd be looking to make a statement tot he team. Looking for discipline and control.

Continuously starting over year after year, we were going to get this at least once. It takes a particular recipe: no returning leadership or experience, new talent that doesn't immediately pan out (AG, AP, and WCS will probably be good players in a couple of years they just aren't going to carry a great team right now), and a significant injury. UK found that mixture this season.

I think you'll definitely see Cal try to revamp this team. They simply can't play the way they were playing. I'm surprised Cal hasn't come up with a way like he did with the BK team to find some offensive flow. Maybe it simply because we don't have a PG. I think Cal will end up going with Mays at point. And use he and Wiltjer in the pick and roll and pick and pop like the OP mentioned. I think he'll also use Archie and WCS some in the pick and roll.
The bad thing about Mays in the pick and roll is he's not fast enough to turn the corner and he's not big enough to finish at the basket if he does turn the corner.
We've just got limited options. I really think the BCG style of shortening the game might be the best way for this team to sneak in some wins. Pack it in defensively, make the other team shoot it from deep and take the shot clock way down on the offensive end. Its a horrible style to watch but it can be effective. You can wear the other team down and make them defend you for the whole shot clock.
Poythress should not touch the ball unless its in the post period. And WCS should not touch the ball unless he's got deep position. Guys have got to be more deligent in where they get the ball to each other. Polson, Mays and Hood should know this. Personally I don't expect Harrow and Goodwin to know anything.
We absolutely have to beat Mizzou at home to have any chance to get in the tourney and I don't see that happening. They will kill us inside and that little PG will tear us apart with penetration. We're basically screwed.
