I think that the general consensus is that he should be looking around. They are not pulling his offer but he could be offered a gray shirt. I doubt he ends up in this class. Let the new coaches pick their guys. The last crew gave us two years of offensive football in the bottom 5% of BCS.

I think it has more to do with the WR UK has on its board than with anything necessarily wrong with Smith.

I think Jevontey's highlights are pretty impressive. Catches a lot of short ball on screens,hitches, 5yard slants and ins..makes the 1st guy miss and hes got you a big gainer. I think the Air Raid would suit Smith very well, looks like a Craig Yeast/Randall Cobb "type" playmaker. Looks plenty tough enough too..wont go down..makes you put him down. Has great hands. I like the kid..think hes better than some 4 star wr's just going by game tape. Hey..if Uk is at a point they can afford to pass On a Jevontey Smith type athlete..Im happy.

I think the biggest knock on Jevontay Smith is that he's not a fluid athlete and he's kind of tight in his hips. While in his highlight tape he's making plays and doing some nice things and is tough he doesn't show natural athletic abiltiy. It almost looks like he's fighting to become an athlete than it coming natural to him. Its hard to explain what I mean..... But people that are usually like that don't do as well as others at the next level who just have it.... The other guys that UK is after looks on film to be just natural's at it....

Jevontay Smith was one of the guys who was encouraged to look around, I don't think they pulled the offer but just told him to look around at some other schools for more playing time. I think if he still comes to UK he'll probably greyshirt first.
