Why do we rarely see him wearing a UK golf shirt,sweater pullover or some sort of clothing with our logo on it? I would think that would be a given..Yes he is recognizable but he does represent our school...Curious..

Cal is his own brand. Doesn't need the UK logo to be instantly recognizable. Roy Williams seldom wears things with UNC on them either.

If you don't know what team Cal coaches, you don't have any buisness playing for UK anyway!

huh? I think it's weird/tacky to see grown men/old men wearing "warm-up" suits. I always find it bizarre seeing pitino in warmup suits...
Just me though.

I think you could have left the 5 out and just said top classes. I wouldn't want him to change anything he is doing in recruiting.

Who cares what he wears? His face is instantly recognized, he doesn't have to show a brand. Everyone knows who he is, where he coaches, and what he stands for. I agree with Hoptown, it's kinda tacky.

Sometimes he does, but he's so recognizable, he's one of a few who don't need to. Roy W wore a UNC sweater vest Friday, but plain clothes Saturday and Sunday. Coach K never had anything with Duke on it. Just nice dress clothes.

Jeff and Chris give very sufficient answers and the rest are sarcastic and ridiculous..Nate did I mention it was a big deal? no...If you all read my post I said I knew he was recognizable but I was just curious if there was any reasoning behind it..Just like the crap on Cats Illustrated..is that where you came from Cousincarl? Geez....

My post wasn't ridiculous or sarcastic. I just gave an opinion of the reasoning WHY he wouldn't wear a branded UK hoodie or jumpsuit or w/e. Sorry you took it that way.

It really is a fair question and it may to be different from all the other x number of coaches that go to see the same recruit. You think that doing something different will make you stand out in the recruits mind. Maybe that is what he is attempting to do. Whatever he is doing it seems to be working and thats fine with me.

I wasn't being sarcastic Don, I was merely posing the question. Obviously you didn't say it was a big deal, but everyone who follows college basketball knows who Cal coaches. Which means any player, coach, scout, parent, etc. knows who Cal is at these AAU tournaments.
This is not a slight towards you, I'm just calling a spade a spade.

It is a fair question and honestly maybe I would like him to wear more UK stuff, but in the end who cares. He's the most recognizable figure in his respected sport for good or bad.
I just don't understand why people need to analyze what he wears to an AAU event. It's kind of ridiculous to me.

I'm pretty sure I see "UK" on his "Blue" shirt... and he's on the recruiting trail here. Just say'in.
