Where are the "Joe Crafts" to Support the UK Football Program?

  • Today's Lexington Herald-Leader ran a big article on Joe Craft and his financial contributions to the UK basketball program (Joe Craft Center; Wildcat Coal Lodge). It's great to know that we have dedicated large financial backers of our successful basketball program.

What I'd like to know is whether or not similar large financial supporters exist that support the UK football program, and, if not, what BBN supporters opinions are as to what it will take to garner support from such an individual or individuals?

Has zero connections to UK. What makes you think he would be interested in donating millions to UK fball?

  • Oh. How about MB picks up the phone and
calls him. That might be a start. OK.

That,s what your HC and AD does? They find donors, CAL doesn't need Mitch's help, he does it his way and it works. That is what we need in our next football HC, a guy who can get people excited about UK football again.

Cal would. We need our NEW football HC to be that same type of guy that gets people excited about UK football again.

ok people lets look at it this away. UK has no tradition in football period. so funding it is hard very hard call all you want too. Its hard. Funding basketball at UK and having your name on that is huge.
So to me you must ask the fans to pay more period. that will be the only way to fund a big name coach and his asst's.

6 to 9 mill per yr for a top coach and staff. and UK would have to double the recruiting budget to get them.

  • UK pays 6 mill plus for its basketball coach and staff and a huge amount for the recruiting budget.

Actually the b-ball program pays for itself. Every other football program in the sec pays for the b-ball program and all the other sports. We are fortunate that out b-ball program pays its own way And thus frees up more revenue.
