He was indeed, and played nickel corner last season, but I'd guess that if they wanted to move him back they would have done so as soon as they got the Caffey news and not put him at safety throughout camp. Tells me they don't think he fits there given how open the CB spot was.

Honestly...I thought he was better than Cartier Rice in nickel...Cartier is simply small and not overly athletic. I'm not a fan of any of the moves of DBs under Cassity...
- Ashlie Lowrey is more suited for Winston's old spot vs. free safety. - I know hands were tied when Caffey went down..but it feels like all we've done is weaken 2 spots - Dixon to safety, to me, just back logs all kinds of kids at safety...Faulkner, Dixon, Blaylocks, Dakotah Tyler, Lowrey, etc...and we literally have next to zilch at CB.

I think you are confused between the difference between the strong and free saftey. The deep saftey is the free saftey, I think Lowery is better suited for the strong saftey position which players a little closer to the line and usually assists in the run defense.
