It doesn't matter. We are in a conference that splits everything evenly between members. So if you are Bottom Feeder (US) or top dog (Bama) you get almost the same cut. That is why UK will NEVER EVER EVER spend $5 million dollars for a football coach.

Furthermore, UK also doesn't have the recruiting base, fan support (even in Bama's down years they sell out), facilities, administrative support, or tradition to attract the hire people expect.

Those that think Cal is here for money need to realize that Memphis was willing to match or beat anything UK could throw at him but what they couldn't match was what? Fan Support, facilities, Admin support and tradition. Couple Cal with the UK name and you have unmatched recruiting.

This is why if UK starts now, we'll be relevant (top ten year in a year out) in 20-30 years but it is going to take that long to build it to last. But make no mistake, the build starts with a young hungry coach or an old (Rich Brooks) type coach to get the ball rolling again.

Best coach to hire would be from a power school like Bama, UK does not need a failed older coach from any school. He must be able to bring in players from a reagion he knows best and get the players needed. Prefer and D coach type. Also must give him the xtra money to bring in much better asst coaches and a killer recruiter.

UK must trippppple its recruiting budget.
