If Barbhart hires Zook to be our HC, he should be fired on the spot. Zook cannot be succesful anywhere aside from a descent year hear or there.
Now if you hire a head coach who hired Zook as an assistant or coordinator, I may feel differently, as he is obviously a stellar recruiter. HC, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm curious. Has anyone mentioned Mark Stoops? Florida State DC and great bloodline. Another wish list choice but not any more far fetched than some of the names on here. I would still rather have HC experience and not get a guy to get his first gig in the SEC to learn on the job. We've been down that road.

Given Capiluto's recent comments nixing any hope of football facilities upgrades, virtually every coach listed in this thread is a pipe dream.
The virtually inevitable coaching search is going to be a disaster of epic proportions and it has everything to do with the lack of administrative and legislative support of the football program.
Anyone who is excited about a coaching search needs to have their head examined.

Good question, Knot. Football has been bringing in profits of $10-20MM per year for more than a decade while spending a grand total of about $14MM on football facilities in that same time span. We have "private gifts/donations/funds" large enough to fund millions in track, softball, and soccer renovations, if I'm remembering the articles about those improvements correctly. Our basketball players enjoy private lodgings and a private chef as well as "NBA-style" locker rooms.
Somehow, despite the ever-increasing popularity of college football and the enormous revenue potential it has from a wide variety of sources, UK has chosen to hitch its wagon to a sport that produces, when championship level, about half of what a terrible football program generates in a single year in this conference.
I'm curious, Knot, if you know off-hand. How much has USCe's revenue grown due to its renewed focus on fielding a competitive football team, including numerous completed and planned facilities upgrades?

Please no flaming in this thread. Give your candidates and the reasons.
These are in no particular order...
1. John Grudent - Long shot, but Mitch has to call his agent to see if there is a "$" number. 2. Bill Cower - See John Gruden. 3. Jim Leavitt - contreversial, I know. But he has the pedigree. I also think the fact that he received a huge settlement from USF after his dismissal says that he likely didn't do everything he was accused of. He started teh program at USF. he had a lot of success at USF. He knows how to recruit florida. He's also had the chance to coach under JIm Harbaugh for the last two years in San Francisco. 4. Kyle Love, Rutgers - Rutgers, much like UofL will lose their bcs status after next season. They will have trouble finding a conference. Perhaps he's looking for a new home? 5. Kyle Whittingham - Utah - He's won at Utah. Can we give him a big enough raise? 6. Butch Jones - Cincy. 7. Bud Foster - Va Tech - Probably the top assistant on my list. Coaches at a school similar to UK in that there isn't a "ton" of instate talent and the actual region of VA they are located in produces no division 1 talent.
Thoughts? Again, my list isn't in a particular order just some names that popped into my head.
