Wiggins not coming to Madness??

  • Any confirmation? I hear Larry Vaught and some others are reporting this.

  • I hear he is going home to Canada because he has a long weekend.

It's unfortunate, but to go home to let his parents allow him to reclassify and then commit to UK isn't all that bad.

  • It is going to be very interesting on what goes down with Wigs... The kid is FAR from reclassifying at this point and has to have 100 percent parental approval. Obviously he is completely ready to play from an athletic standpoint but his parents would like him to be a little stronger and a little more mature before they will allow him to reclassify. So, all in all good ole Wigs might just be waiting till 14' before making a decision between UK and Florida State. Keeping my fingers crossed that we get him at some point.

Do you have a link with the parents opinions?

I think you can make the case him staying in 14 would be better for Kentucky. Cats will be loaded in 13 regardless, as much as I'm itching to see him in blue I'd rather see him anchor the 2014 squad.

  • We'll just get others to anchor 2014. Give me the most talented all the time.

  • He could get minutes off the bench in the NBA this season if he was allowed. . . As long as he thinks he can handle it academically then I can't imagine any reason for him to stay in high school for another season. . . You're going to get a lot better playing against college talent, being coached by College coaches, and in a college strength and conditioning program. . .

Being reported on another site that his parents were coming to Huntington from Canada this weekend to discuss his reclassification.

    That's good news,

Hopefully then he can come to BBM.

    +1

I also like to have more of a guarantee in winning 2013. I don't want to spread talent. I rather know 1 year we are heavy favorites to win than to have 2 years of favorites.

    That's just me, so. :-)

Wiggins coach thinks he ready to go to college and I havent seen any articles saying his parents have said that. Wiggins brother has even said that he wants him to come to KY and he is ready to do that in 2013. I also was on the fence about him re-classifying but now I think he will. His commitment may not come till the spring though but if he does re-classify then KY will hear him say what the twins said.

  • No link, this came straight from my connection with Huntington Prep...

  • Should be very interesting... I agree Rob does think he is ready, and there are no articles that say what the parents have said. This is from inside the Wigs camp... I promised some people on here way earlier that if I come across any info that I would share so I was speaking with some people involved with Andrew when I came across this information.

  • No problem Chris... I know that Rob's gut says that he will reclassify BUT his parents are a totally different ball game.

  • Why come to madness when you already know you're going to be playing ball here?

Right. Could be a halfway decent time if you are a big-time recruit bashful
