Absolutely not. Joker has too much of a history and has done too much for UK to let him go like that. They will allow him to go in the most dignified manner possible. How he handles it, who knows.

Mitch's allegience should lie with the program not Joker. I appreciate Joker's service to UK Football, but he has been paid quite handsomely for it (and will continue to be a year after he leaves). Barnhart needs to pull the plug now and have a replacement in place before the final game so they can have some chance at salvaging recruiting and maintaining some of the current guys. UK Football cannot afford a coaching search that extends into December or beyonf the first of the year.

There needs to be some reason for excitement around UK football, but that's not gonna happen until Joker's gone. Mitch needs to do his job - plain and simple.

Announce it Monday. Please get Petrino hired Tuesdaynso he can start recruiting.

I think I'm pretty neutral on the decision, but I kind of feel like something should be said one way or the other, just sayin!!

Nobody is going to bite on Kentucky as long as a possible UT or Auburn or other high profile job is out there. There's no need to rush.

Lots of UK fans used to say that about Cal. Petrino made a personal mistake with a woman. The weakness of all men. He is not a drunk or a child molester. He had an affair. Not right but not a reason to ban him from coaching.

UK not being able to look for a coach because UT, Auby and the Hawgs may be looking for one too is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard. They can only sign three and chances are most of their candidates are not gonna be found on the aisle of the Goodwill we'll be looking. At worst, it would just mean that Mitch woould have to turn to the fourth man on his list and chances are pretty good that he'll have to go that deep anyway. Mitch needs to be well on his way to having his replacement for Joker identified.

The next coach at UK isn't gonna be waiting around for UT, Aubie or Arkansas to decide. Waiting on those three is assinine. Get the search started. If that menas moving down the list to number four - so be it, but waiting around to see what other programs do is about as lame an excuse as there is. Mitch needs to at least be whittling down the list and making contacts so a search doesn't stretch until Christmas. UK cannot afford the wait.

Trust me, he's making a list. We should hear about more movement in Nov. Might start this coming week depending what might leak out. Joker is finish, only thing I can see is to let Joker finish the season, might coach better knowing he doesn't have to wait for the ax. I hope for a homerun hire but more than anything, it needs to be the right hire

I've said all along if there is any announcement during the season it would seem that it would come in the bye week after next week's Vanderbilt game, especially if Kentucky loses next week. Why? It gives opportunity to make that decision public without distracting from game week preparation. It's late enough in the season to make it less awkward in terms of lame duck coach. It allows Joker Phillips one final home game against a team it should beat to basically leave Commonwealth Stadium, a place where he played and has spent a great deal of his coaching career at, on winning terms. Meanwhile, the administration can go about its business of moving forward with the candidate pool.

I'm in total agreement with you Mr. Footballcat65. I also agree that there will be a statement in the next 7-10 days. We all know Joker is a goner and I believe Mr. Barnhart will pull the trigger and try to boost the crowds, excitement, etc. for the remaining home games. I believe our AD will make a most excellent selection for the new Head Coach. We will all be excited.

in order to speak to UKTell me one thing, how will they be able to look for a new coach unless he is already unemployed, because the coaches that are already employed will need permission from the school they work for presently before they can speak to UK. How many will ask that permission during the season? Im all for getting a good coach but I just dont think it can get underway till the end of the season when they will say goodbye to Joker.
