    I think that you are right. Unless UK is willing to put forth the money it takes to have a first class program nothing is going to change in the football program. Changing coaches has not made any difference in the football program since I have been going to the games since 1964. If I am a coach looking to take the job I would want guarantees that money would be available to match any other top program in the SEC; The football program is the biggest money maker of all the sports programs. If we can afford Cal in the basketball program we should be able afford a top notch coach for football.

    I agree with you and have been saying it for quite awhile now but along with improved facilities and a new coaching staff maybe we need a new AD. These problems like you said seem to transcend the coaches we have had. Although Brooks took us to several low level bowl games most any school with a 6-6 record would be eligible for those bowls and oh yeah we werent much better than 6-6. If the AD and some fans are satisfied with that then lets go to the MVC and leave the SEC. With Missouri and Texas A&M now in the conference, although Mizzou is down this year KY will be the bottom feeder of the SEC unless we can recruit 4+5 star talent and that takes a strong team from the AD on down.

    Absolutely not. Joker has too much of a history and has done too much for UK to let him go like that. They will allow him to go in the most dignified manner possible. How he handles it, who knows.

  • Look we may or may not be able to afford a big time coach, but it probably ain't going to happen. UK basketball will always be first just like if Florida had to choose it would be football its just how it is, Uk seems to be putting more resources into getting the mens and womens sports up to par and letting football go. This is just what it seems like to me anyways, our basketball programs our on the rise, our baseball program on the rise, volleyball, gymnastic's etc. These are programs that Mitch seems to care more about than football, because we should be able to get a coach that can at least win 5 or 6 games a year and compete in the conference games. This is very do able if Mitch just gets rid of Joker now and brings in someone who is a big named college coach, I don't like Petrino as a person but as a coach I think he fits the bill.
