Two open records requests with no response sounds mighty peculiar to me.
80 Proof - you;re in touch with the Lexington construction industry, surely whoever is awarded the contract has lined up local subs and labor, what are you hearing?

Lonny Demaree knew we were going to get new scoreboards back in November of last year. It's not like this hasn't been in the works for a while (i have seen that argument as to why it's dragging). Hopefully we get everything we were told and it doesn't cost $10M instead of $6.

I've not seen a thing on it. Usually these types of things will show up on Lynn's bid list (track/Coal lodge are both on there), but I've not seen one single thing show up with this. It doesn't show up on UK's site either with the rest of the projects under construction or up for bid. I'm guessing the contractor will come from out of town as this is a pretty specialized field of work, but none of the local contractors that I talk to have heard anything about doing sub-work on this project. I've also not seen or heard anything about raising funds to help pay for this.
I have no idea what is happening, but I'm a bit skeptical about anything happening before this season with our video boards.

On a project like this with a VERY specialized way of doing things you will probably see a complete design/build process. We won't see a normal electrical contractor on this. It will likely be somebody that follows around the general contractor from project to project. As was stated earlier, the project is off of the UK site because the deadline has passed and a contractor has likely been picked. The "contract" hasn't been awarded because the plans have not been approved by the state. This process can take as long as 4 weeks or as little as one week. I would bet that we'll hear something very quickly on this...
