Yup, forget the doubletalk and spin some will nitpic over every word of the interview. Bottom line, Barnhart fired the shot that it was the Ky Senate and Williams holding back Commonwealth improvements. Williams has returned volley saying if Barnhart (who he claims has never spoken too him before) presents a plan of what will be done and how the debt will be paid for, he will suppor it.
Ball is in your court now, Mitch

The fact that Barnhart and Williams have never talked is the tragedy of the entire interview.
With a situation like Barnhart described that the Ky Senate was holding back CWS improvements, I find it amazing that under that situation these two have never spoken.
Maybe Barnhart thinks he is above the political games they play in Kentucky but thats a poor excuse but understandable from someone not from Kentucky. The Kentucky funding situation is unique and requires thinking out of the box.

Williams is an arrogant POS. Everything that comes out of his mouth is mumbo jumbo. He says he is against gaming but spends lots of time in Indiana spreading the wealth, and getting lots of money for keeping it out of KY. I have no respect for Williams at all.

doesn't matter. Mitch said on Wlap last night that UK football has everything it needs. Sad thing is, it doesn't shock me anymore to hear things like this come out of his mouth. Time and time again, he blatantly takes the position that UK is doing a fine job of supporting football, and somehow, those of us who complain are LOD'ers? You guys keep on believing what you want to, but I am convinced that at the very best, Mitch Barnhart is not compitent enough to do what needs to be done. When he says they have everything they need, need to what? Survive? Succeed? I could survive in a hut in the middle of the woods, but that wouldn't make me succesful unless it's my goal to just survive. Personally, I'm tired of the b.s. Even if it fails, I want to see action now!

the way I understood it.... It fell on the shoulders of the UK President to allow Mitch to approach the KY Senate. Basically now everything has to be done through the UK president and this has been the hold up of UK Athletics getting dedicated revenue for there own projects. David Williams said that he's in favor of dedicated projects but UK Presidents always wants to bundle those projects with UK Academic projects and David Williams says that he's not in favor of that.
So for me the ball is in the UK presidents court.....

Uk has an entire team that works on governmental relations. What Williams described yesterday has not been how the legislature has wanted to see projects from universities. They have always ASKED to see them grouped together on a "wish list". Then the legislature gets to pick winners and losers. It's a nasty and annoying process riddled with special interests. That's the main reason republicans and democrats don't want to give the schools their own bonding authority. They want to force the schools to come begging and give them all the credit.

I have to agree... how he keeps getting elected is beyond me. It makes no sense to block legal gaming in Kentucky...allowing all those Ky dollars to float across the river. Let grown-ups make grown-up choices... and let "KENTUCKY" tax revenue benefit from it.
Btw, that's coming from a Christian Conservative.... just not the extreme right-wing type.
All I need to rely on is 3 simple things... the Ten Commandments, the U.S. Constitution and good ol' fashioned Common Sense

I'm a Christian Conservative also. I get sick of government trying to dictate everything we can and cannot do. I'm not sure what happened to for the people by the people. Oh well I hate politics and political correctness. All polititians are only in it for themselves. Just like someone said a little earlier they just want to be begged for the priviledge to speak with them so they can get the glory. What will probably happen is the funds will get approved and Williams will try to take all the credit so he can get elected to the Gov office
