Wow, Kentucky does NOT get NCAA Regional

    I just wonder if there's any significant edge to being a No. 1 seed in baseball. If there is, great. But if not, this team should not have been penalized. With AUX seating, Cliff Hagan Stadium is FINE for an NCAA regional. Not a super regional, but a regional.

    When the Cats won the SEC a few years ago didn't they lose to College of Charleston in the regionals at Cliff Hagan? I'd guess it's a little above 50% but not much higher than that for success rate of high seeds at home.

    Heck Fresno State won it all as an effective 16 seed in 2008

  • As a Gamecock fan, let me say that you guys just got completely hosed. It can't be because of your stadium because that is something you know well in advance so that you can use a minor league park to serve as the stadium site if need be (Coastal Carolina has done this in the past).

    Bottom line is that you guys deserved a regional and were probably even deserving of a super regional. Congrats on a great season and hopefully we will see you guys in Omaha.

  • So some projections have the Cats going to be the #1 seed in Miami. So you don't give them a regional, don't send them to a close regional site, then give them a #2 seed that is #13 in the RPI.
