  • According to KGNU in Boulder

  • Mullen has to want a raise. this is crazy if true

    Big Tymer

  • TBH he's likely about topped out at Miss. St. Overtaking Alabama isn't gonna happen and now with aTm doing well and you know Auburn won't stay down long.

  • Can you imagine a Colorado team with a strong defense, and a stable offense? Would be bassackwards, but a strong D could F some shish up in their league. Likely just to get a raise though.

  • Why would Mullen develop a strong D at Colorado? He's not a defensive minded coach at all. He's an offensive guy.

  • Now that would be the dumbest move in the country. Bigger than Tubervilles'.

Being from from Mississippi & hearing the "buzz" around the state, Mullin isn't even the hot name on the kids mind, Freeze at Ole Piss is blowing up down here, not that Colorado makes any since but it maybe a good time for Mullin to bounce.
Most State fans already wont Mark Hub....how ever u spell his name, ex MSU assistance, that coaches one of the smaller schools in La. The Ragin Cagins i think.
    Anyway Go Cats baby

Yeah I think people get caught up in Colorado being so down right now but they're in a stable conference and the PAC 12 isn't nearly as hard as the SEC. And as you say MSU is the little brother in the state to Ole Miss, and with the rest of the West getting tougher to win it makes sense that Mullens jumps now.

  • Let's see....I'm a warmer weather guy myself, but Mullen is a New Hampshire native, so:

Quality of life: If you don't mind a cold winter, the quality of life in Boulder vs Starkville is off the charts.

Competition: The PAC 12 is a very good league, but the PAC 12 South isn't in the same universe as the SEC West.

Pressure to win: While the Colorado people want to win, the State fans may come after Mullen with pitchforks is he loses to Ole Miss again next year.

I could see Mullen taking this job.

Well, at MSU he bult his team from Defense up. Maybe that's just cause he was in the SEC, but I figured he knew what it takes to play winning football, and would bring an SEC philosophy to any team he went to.

He would need at least 4 years to get some talent to the team, they are way down. But a very forgiving program for the right coach. I think you're correct on the defense, he certainly has gained a mountain of knowledge coaching in the SEC. He well need to recruit TX & CA. It will be a challenge if he indeed does take the job.
