XM-91 Petrino to UK or UT...

  • I know I posted on this when ESPN talked about his future. But listened to a show around 4 oclock today and the host said (Finebaum I Think), that his ego would not let him coach anywhere else but the SEC. He's not welcomed in the NFL, and he has vengeance on his Mind. Ideally he would want UT, but thier administration could not handle his baggage after Lane and Bruce. Only want high Character guys. Then here is the point that got me from thinking bullcrap to makes sense. UK will have to take a chance on a Gambler, IF Joker doesn't make it thru the season, a Steve Spurrier type but someone that's not a hot item. Mitch has a job for life after bringging in Calipari, and the job Mathew Mitchell and Gary Henderson have done. He will be able to gamble on the hire. Now here is the part that really got me saying oh sheet. He has a lot of his previous staff already at UK. The Transition will be smooth, and with what he did with Ragone and now he has Patrick Towles. It's all opinions but really gets you thinking outside the box.

  • I'd rather we dug up "the Bear" than have Petrino as our coach.

    Not just "NO!!" to Petrino, but "HELL NO!!". We've had more than our share of shady, back-door dealing, crooked coaches at Kentucky.

  • A lot of ppl were saying the same type of comments about cal before uk threw dice and took him, "baggage" and all.

    I was initially anti petrino, and if joker has a bowl season I am anti petrino.

    But if jokers season implodes, he is who I want. He built a program at Louisville, elevated a program at Arkansas, and can do the same for uk.

    (by the way I think we were also told that Cassity to uk would never happen)

    I hope joker wins and does big things at uk, because he wouldn't go anywhere else. But if he can't cut it I think petrino is a better option than leach.

    People "implicate" Cal although the actions were not his and there is no evidence he brought them about or had anything to do with them.

    Petrino completely owns his baggage and it is substantial.

    The comparison between the two is not warranted.

  • When joker fails BP would be a perfect hire. After all the scandals the big programs would lay off and he could build something at UK. I don't care about his past as long as he wins here.

  • Mike Leach couldn't get hired to save his life for awhile and had to settle for the bottom of the barrel in Washington St. What Petrino did and has done dwarfs anything Leach was involved with (a lawsuit and a reputation for being difficult and strange which is why they wanted to get rid of him in the first place) with the whole Adam James situation.

    Now I want to ask this question because I do not know the answer.

    Can someone tell me what Pitrino did that he would be considered a scumbag? Did he kill someone? Does he owe anyone money? Really, just what is it in his history that is really bad. He did hire a girl and probably cheated on his wife but she is still married to him and as they say in the Bible, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone".

    I am not being rude, I really know nothing about him other than he did well at Louisville and had a great offense that was fun to watch.

    I doubt if anyone thought he would go to ul because of his time at UK, heck, I bet ul fans never thought he would be their coach either. But he is a jerk, and if you don't think that his cheating is bad, I guess I will be disappointed because only the lowest ul fan thinks there was nothing wrong with ricky's cheating so I would hate to include you in that group. Plus killing someone is different then being a douchebag.
