Let me ask this question.
How many on here said that "Rick Pitino" would never coach at Louisville?
Now I want to ask this question because I do not know the answer.
Can someone tell me what Pitrino did that he would be considered a scumbag? Did he kill someone? Does he owe anyone money? Really, just what is it in his history that is really bad. He did hire a girl and probably cheated on his wife but she is still married to him and as they say in the Bible, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone".
I am not being rude, I really know nothing about him other than he did well at Louisville and had a great offense that was fun to watch.

Your not very smart are you? Its not that he cheated on his wife. Its that he hired a woman into his program that he was having sex with on the side and gave her some nice bonus money. He put Arkansas at risk for a huge lawsuit. From a personal standpoint I've seen people do much worse. But from a professional standpoint this is about as bad as it gets.

There is a price point where he would become a favorable hire. It's all about value. If UK could get him for a small salary with the idea that it would bump up in a few years with good behavior then I can see them taking a stab at it. I don't think they'll pay full price for him, but I don't think they would have to. There's no doubt that he's a heck of a coach.

You (and everyone else) is blowing this deal out of proportion. Somebody will hire Petrino in the future. It may very well be UK. You can be guaranteed that if Petrino is available and Joker gets fired that hewill at least be in the discussion. Winning and money are the things that drive SEC football, and UK needs to make a splash. Would Petrino be my personal first choice? No. Would I quit watching UK football if he was hired? No. The most laughable part of this is the people that get all
saying that they will "never watch another game of UK football" if Petrino is hired. I call BS on that.
Also, don't bash on someone's intelligence if you're going to screw up your grammar. In the first place it's rude, in the second place that sort of thing isn't good for civil discussion on the board. Leave that sort of behavior for Louisville fans.

Mike Leach couldn't get hired to save his life for awhile and had to settle for the bottom of the barrel in Washington St. What Petrino did and has done dwarfs anything Leach was involved with (a lawsuit and a reputation for being difficult and strange which is why they wanted to get rid of him in the first place) with the whole Adam James situation.

What did Petrino do? He had an affair with a young lady he hired. So did Bill Clinton. He quit a job to take another.(who hasn't) Ppl talk about Bear Bryant in high regard but, he left UK to take the Bama job.
All I'm saying is he may be douche bag, but he's a hell of coach and recruiter. Best of luck to Joker and staff but, it's a chance I would take as AD. You can get him on the cheap and keep him for a few seasons. He's gonna have to keep clean for a while or he will never get back to a "dream job". If he came in won the SEC/East it would help the program and school.

This has been stated repeatedly by myself and others, but I'll go with it one more time.
The affair itself doesn't matter. If Petrino had been boinking someone in his own social circle or the cutie down at the local diner, he would still be employed at Arkansas. But instead, he:
* Hired a woman he was sleeping with into a cushy nice paying university job.
*Gave her that job over dozens of vastly more qualified applicants.
*Lied about knowing her previous to hiring her.
*Gave her a $20K "bonus".
*Those actions left the university at risk for lawsuits from the other applicants.
*Tried to involve a friend with the Arkansas State Police in covering up his mess.
*Lied to his boss, family, players, fans and media about the accident as he tried to cover it up.
*Used his university issued cell phone to send nearly 4000 text messages and more than 300 phone calls to his girl friend.
*Used his university issued cell phone to send over 300 text messages, included supposedly some nude photos of himself to another hottie he was "friends" with in Little Rock.
I can't believe people are having such a hard time understanding what Petrino has done....
