XM-91 Petrino to UK or UT...

Krag inherited a huge mess. Immediately a lot of Petrino's guys were ineligible and others were in trouble with the law. Krag took a bad job. He was not allowed to pick his staff as the prior arrangements especially with the Brohm family hamstrung him as soon as he arrived. Krag is not a bad coach he just jumped on the wrong wagon. Petrino is a liar and if you are that dishonest it was only a matter of time before he ran into the NCAA. You cannot compartmentalize integrity.

Completely true that Kragthorpe was hamstrung because Jurich forced him to retain many members of Petrino's staff. Oh by the way they were the assistants who Petrino didnt think were that good because he didnt bring them with him to the Falcons (like he did Summers). But the fact that he didnt have the freedom to hire his own staff isnt Petrino's doing, but Jurich.

And your argument is that he won't be scooped up at the first opportunity?

The guy is a known sleazeball but that won't keep him from getting hired. There's plenty of precedent for that fact.

Sure someone will hire him, there is bound to be an AD somewhere whose job is already on the line that will be willing to take that chance. But it isn't gonna be UK and not likely any BCS program that has a shred of credibility left.

He exposed the state university to enormous legal liability and lied to his administrators repeatedly about the source of the legal liability.

Focusing on the moral lapse as his only indiscretion is intellectually dishonest. Someone somewhere may take a chance on Bobby Petrino in the future. If that risk-taker is another university, they have opened themselves up to a world of legal liability due to the public exposure Petrino's actions have garnered.

Tell me what defenses the University will assert when Mary Sue Employee sues the University and Petrino for sexual harrassment. Are you counting on Petrino to never have another moral lapse? Are you counting on the female University employees keeping their mouths shut and construing Petrino's every action and statement as non-sexual and completely professional in nature?

Legal liability is a very real concern with Petrino going forward. That liability will be the reason he struggles to get a job, not any moral or professional lapses in judgment.

Exposing the University to legal liabilities happens with ever hire, especially those with a questionable past, I do understand that.

I don't want Petrino at UK but, I was simply trying to say the stuff Petrino did happens every day in the our lives and we continue to associate with our friends and acquaintenaces. Basically the "Holier than Thow" crap should be nixed. That's all my point was.

    Not true.

A married man having another girl on the side happens everyday.

The situation described regarding Petrino's mishandling of the situation doesn't.

We have legal liability every day we wake up and leave our house. And sometimes when we don't leave the house.

This situation is different. There is very specific legal liability attached to Petrino that is not attached to any other coaching prospect in the nation. An administrator who signs off on the hire of Petrino after the improper hiring of and relationship with a subordinate employee has opened his institution to liability for sexual harassment, negligent hiring and retention, and a host of other legal issues.

Holier than thou has nothing to do with it, for me, but may for others. I'll never stop being a fan of UK football or attending games, but the hire of Bobby Petrino is a monumental disaster waiting to happen from a legal standpoint.
