does anyone have any details concerning the 70 to 100 million to be spent that is being mentioned by some sources?

Absolutely nothing is finalized. There is an "agreement" between uk and legislative leadership that would give uk between 300-500 million in bonding capacity. This would go multiple projects. It's rumored that athletics would get 200 million.
The key to remember is that none of this will be finalized until late February at the earliest. The elections and leadership changes in Frankfort could put a kink in this. Moral of story? Call David Williams and tell him you demand Uk get more funding

If UK had any sense and they don't, they would allow the College of Engineering to do "all" the engineering involved in any work on CWS. That right their would save millions in cost that would go to an independent engineering company. Surely someone on the College staff has a Engineering stamp and can approve any engineering plans, improvements, and red lines.
Maybe someone can actually draw improvements and allow the fans to see them. What a concept.

Stadium designs/changes are a pretty specialized area. Many details would be missed by the needed generalist professors. You wouldn't want them designing a deep sea oil drilling platform either.

Also, you'd just have to hire an engineering firm to do the engineering depts day jobs for them because designing the stadium wouldn't allow time for anything else.
But hey, your thinking, more than most can say.

I am a retired engineer and a UK grad. The three desicipline involved are Mechnical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering plus design which in todays world is no more than CAD drawings. I would have this become a project for the College of Arch. and Engineering to basically get the most for less.
Students need real world projects like this to become better real world engineers.
Call it the College of Engineering recruiting room. haha

I love this idea. Maybe they could use this to recruit students as well as athletes. Be a trend setting university. Might even get some support for the project from the academic side this way. Talk about out of the box thinking. Also would be a great way to drum up interest and support for the project. Maybe they could assemble teams of faculty and students to come up with the design and have a group of fans and former players vote on which they like best.

For some reason many think that CWS is just an old relic of a football stadium but in reality, it is the newest football stadium in the SEC. It was built the way they built stadiums back then with lots of concrete. You know what they say about concrete. "Their is the concrete that is cracked and the concrete thats gonna crack". My point is that concrete having a few cracks is normal considering the hot and cold climate in Lexington. That does not mean that improvements can't be made on the cheap to give the old girl a facelift.
100 million will make a lot of improvements but it doesn't have to be all done at one time. Someone said, just paint the place first "Blue" paint. I like that idea because it will give the place character.

I'm a registered architect educated by UK.
One problem... Liability insurance. Neither myself nor anyone with a brain would entertain giving a hometown discount or pro bono investigation/design as the designer. The professional (architect / engineer) could possibly be on the hook for a catastrophic lawsuit worth billions if any unforeseen conditions arose.
I'll do it for the correct fee :)
