  • they dont really scare me all that much...they arent very athletic aside from young and prater...i look up and down our rosters and i see a considerable amount of talent difference...harrow and wilbiken are a wash and thats being nice i personally would rather harrow but ill be fair...out of goodwin and boynton id rather have goodwin..hes bigger stronger faster and although he doesnt shoot it as good i think goodwin is better...mays over rosario(debatble but ill take mays)...poythress/wiltjer/noel/cauley-stein are better then murphy/young/yugette...there experience will be big factor but i think after 2 blowouts against S.C. and auburn we will have alot of confidence and will be playing well i think we have a good shot to go into gainsville pull out a very close win

i know i might be a lil crazy

I respect your opinion but have to disagree a little. Playing down in the swamp will be pretty difficult for these young Cats and Fla does have some excellent experienced players in Young and Murphy. Rosario is an excellent shooter and when he is on he is very hard to defend. I think KY will play well against the Gators down there and the score may surprise some of how close it will be but I am pretty worried about that game and cant see UK coming out on top down there. I know thats a negative opinion of what may happen in that game but thats the way I see it.

  • While I agree UF isn't as scary as most teams that are labeled as the most efficient the player breakdowns are off. I'd take Wilbiken over Harrow for sure. Probably Boyton over Goodwin at this point.

The glass is still full for these Cats. No need to read about Sleepy's doom.

  • I would be very happy with a UF split right now.

i just dont see what boynton does better then goodwin besides shoot it better...the score the same amount of points...goodwin is 27% 3point shooter and boynton is 35%...goodwin is a better rebounder by a mile and they average the same amount of assists a game...ill take goodwin and i think we will find out when they play i cause tey will be matched up quite a bit...

i guess its a lil homerism wit harrow hahah looking at the numbers wilbiken is the better player

I guess you must have picked up on what Chris christened me and I accept your admonishment although I am not sure what I said in my prior post to deserve it. I said I thought that the Cats would play well in that game but Fla with its home court advantage and experienced players would win the game in the end. If that makes me the only "Doomsayer" out there so be it. Fla. lost tonight and Iwas glad to see it but that will also be a motivating factor when they play the Cats even though there is a game in between the Arkansas and KY game. I bet that any odds maker in Vegas would love to give you the Cats in that game for any amount of $ you might like to wager but that doesnt mean I wont be in front of the TV screaming my head off for the Cats to win. So go ahead and call me what you will and you can be assured that I wont retalliate verbally in any way b/c thats also the kind of person I am. BTW, I gave you a +1 for being a poster that says what he thinks no matter what that is or who it is to.

  • I'm still confident enough that we're going to lose in the swamp that I might just record the game and go do something else for a few hours.

If I see later that we won I'll watch it. If I see we lost I'll delete it. Hate watching them lose. This season has been tough.

Florida missed some shots early in this one and Arkansas made everything. Then in the second half when Florida tried to run offense Arkansas was hacking like crazy and forcing turnovers and the officials just weren't calling it.

Donovan got a bench warning and got a few after that but it didn't last long.

Florida will shoot the ball much better at home against us. I still feel like we're giving up way too many open threes. And they've got some shooters as always. Wilbekin, Boynton, Murphy, Frasier can all shoot it.

Frazier reminds me of a poor mans Doron Lamb.

I think tonight was just a typical SEC road game. Underdog home team comes out hitting everything they throw up, gets the crowd into it, intimidated the officiating crew. Game over.

Young was in foul trouble most of the game.
Yguette aggravated a foot injury and missed all of the second half.

You could make the argument that Florida kind of came into conference play under the radar. They had lost a few and didn't quite have that bullseye on their back. Theyve been getting a lot of buzz the last week or two and maybe that finally got an opponents attention. They got the Kentucky treatment if you will. For a while there they were enjoying the benefits of being the big dog without suffering through any of the drawbacks(everyone's superbowl).

That probably had at least a little to do with it but I'm still measuring my optimism and erring on the side of caution and assuming they just had a bad game.

It does show us they're beatable though.

  • I'd also take a split with UF in a heartbeat. Don't get it twisted with UF. They are still a damn good team capable of winning the National Championship and probably by far the best team on average in the SEC. Every team has a bad game and Arky can be a tough place to play. UF was bound to have a let down and thats what happened tonight. We split with them I'm more than happy.

  • Talent is basically a wash, experience to UF, height & athleticism UK. coaching UK. home court UF.

It's going to be a Jim dandy of a game and It'll boil down to foul trouble and FT's...

  • i can see this team makin a final four run...at this exact time 2 years ago we were 16-6 and went on to lose 2 more games be4 makin a run in march...this team is definitely capable especially with cauley-stein back healthy and noel getting better everyday...noel is a difference maker

    esupp24

  • I'm starting to see a way this team can get to the final four. They just have to keep improving. Like you said Esupp. Nobody has a Nerlens. WCS, Alex and Archie are lottery pick types as well. By March they should be clicking on all cyclinders. I believe in Cal in that regard. And Kyle has come into his own. Even old man Mays is coming on. The question becomes is Mays tough enough and can he dig deep enough when it matter most.

Gave you a plus for your reply but I disagree with your conclusion about the game.coffee We are beginning to click and talent is definitely in our favor.

I have never had a problem with people disagreeing with my opinions and never will. I want the Cats to win that game and you are right we do have more talent than Fla. I was basing my opinion on the factors that we will be playing in the Swamp and Fla in general has been playing better as a team this season than has UK. Again you are right that KY has made good progress the past few games and hopefully that will propel the Cats to a victory. I think some people believe just because I think that an opponent will win a game that I dont love and want the Cats to win, but that is the furtherest from the truth. I have a bad habit of calling things the way I see them and I guess that can be misunderstood by some people. Thanks for the up vote that was nice of you b/c Im used to getting the opposite.

    sleepydog

  • I disagree with the OP. I know they lost last night, but over the last 3 - 4 weeks, I think UF has been the best team in the country. Good both inside and out, both offense and (especially) defense. I just hope we can split with them.

I agree with you, Nate. Except for Noel, I think Fla. is better than us at every position.

You get a plus from me. Now, for what I said it was mostly directed to another thread regarding recruiting. My post would have been more appropriate there, but it doesn't really matter. That thread was about Wiggins and I was trying to get Chris to confirm his parents would attend his OV soon. You posted a doomsday reply and I felt that it was really getting old.

To be honest it doesn't matter and it also doesn't change the fact that I prefer your opinion to quite a few on here, but when the only bball recruit you seem to talk about is Gordon and the fact you always say he will stay out West ('Zona) it gets old. It seems like anytime someone talks about Wiggins or Randle you jump in and say we won't get them. I respect your opinion, but we know your stance already. No need to remind us every thread.

I also don't understand why you feel that way considering Cal's track record. Same goes for Chris'. I've been following Chris for awhile now and when he feels confident or says a kid is coming here I listen. He's nailed every one since Wall.
