Dirks is still the best...He is an inch or two shorter than Archie and was elbow deep in the basket..The best I have ever seen..
I agree. Dirk's dunk is still one of the best dunk's I've ever seen period. Almost like he launched himself off of that Miss State defender.
Archie's wasn't bad though

Take away the fact that Goodwin was called for a charge. Was anyone else reminded of Dirk Minniefield when Goodwin threw that dunk down last night. It is unreal how similar their dunks were. You can see minniefields on youtube.
I was thinking the same thing about Goodwin and Minnifields dunks. DMs dunk was 1 of the greatest dunks by a UK player ever, he litterally jumped over the defender to dunk that ball. WOW

For those of you that need a reminder:

I was living across country back in the days of ZERO coverage and little national TV. I had heard of that dunk by friends at the time and always wanted to see it.
By the way, the description of the dunk they gave didn't do justice to the real thing. Thanks for posting this.
I think one of the major reasons that Dirk got so high on that dunk is he didn't have to deal with all the friction and wind resistance that today's players do with the current knee-length baggy shorts ... Dirk was aided by the nut-huggers they wore back then ...
