Better check your facts then. It was Lee Todd that didn't allow him to be hired the first time and had to be convinced the second time around. Pretty sure there are actual direct quotes from him stating such. No rumors. Todd said he didn't like the type of players Calipari had at the time. As for a committee, that should always be a given.
Everyone wants to give credit to someone else for the Cal hire. It was Todd, and Barnhart that went and met with him, they vetted him , and they hired him. They were only two with that kind of power at Kentucky. They may of had a committee in place, and I'm sure they came up with some candidates like the number one choice, Billy D. Of course they probably suggested Calipari too but they didn't sell the job to him, he was dreaming of getting a chance to coach here.
