Only thing I could see is if they wanted to stick it to us and benefit UNC by having them in Atlanta. It should not happen but I won't hold my breath for it to be announced next Sunday. IMO, we should be in the Southeast, Cuse in East, KU in midwest and UNC out west. UNC, to me, is the last #1 and therefore should go wherever is left. Also, if this is the case, I can see Duke in either the Southeast or East but I would imagine they'll be the #2 in the Southeast with us.

Believe it or not St. Louis is closer to Lexington than Atlanta. By about 40 miles. If somehow ku and mizzou were to falter early in their conference you're and much state were to win their conference tourney I could see us going to st. Louis Unc going to Atlanta and much state going out west. I just want to avoid Ohio state and Unc in our region.

Of the top teams, I pray we get OSU and/or Duke in our region. We will crush both.

I don't think the Cats will fear anyone, but I'd prefer to avoid any "rematch/extra incentive" games like UNC or Ohio State... even KU from earlier this year. I know UK is better than all three on a typical day, but each one has reason to get in "Super Bowl" mode, as Cal would say.

The regions are back to being called the South, Midwest, East, and West. They did away with calling it the city name of the region hosting

Wondered about this myself. While St. Louis is actually slightly closer than Atlanta, I thought the selection committee wanted to keep teams regional as best they could. Andy Katz said something to the effect of UK going to Atlanta because it's more regional to the SEC but I don't know.

Atlanta seems to make the most sense.
