18 Reasons Why Obama Must Go...

  • This went from a fishing expedition to a thread and back to fishing. And JohnHunt this thread is a perfect example why I've stopped commenting in political threads as often as I used to. I'll answer your post though. I don't get my news from those people. I have seen their shows though. Like I've seen the fox shows. I do not put the people you listed on the same level as I do Rush, Beck, Hannity, and a many a number of right wing bloggers as cited in the op's comment. The people you listed are slanted to the left, obviously.

  • I can certainly agree with you in principle - bloggers and talking head shows such as limbaugh, hanity, maddow, maher, etc do not provide news - they provide views.

As for their slant left or right .... I lean to the right - they practically fall over with their skewed partisan opinion.

News should come from reliable - fact based and fact checked sources. I get all my news from The Onion or The Colbert Report.

I wouldn't put Maher with the others. I look at his show as a comedy show. He's a stand up comedian and not a reporter. He's been a stand up for over 30 years. Even though Limbaugh's show is pretty funny as well. The difference is Maher is trying to be funny. I get my news from Mother Jones and Alex Jones. I'm well informed.

Perhaps he shoud try sit down - he's really not that funny.

I've always thought he was funny. Even way before I knew he was into politics or what side of the issues he was on. Back in the day he was pretty middle of the road. I think he still is. It's just the ultra right neocons and tea party have taken over the repugs and they've gone so far right that anyone with any kind of common sense has abandoned them. No offense.

  • No, Maher isn't funny and yes, he's a partisan hack. The fact he habitually gets away with his misogynistic BS w/o outrage from from the left (Kristin Powers is the ONLY lib I've seen who has called him out) is a classic case of hypocrisy. PI and Real Time are not comedy shows but political commentary w/a mix of quasi satire. The Daily Show is comedy, Bill Maher is a left wing partisan hack.

And back to the main point, Obama needs to go because he's an utter incompetent pure and simple. He has no message and his smoke and mirrors of soaring flowery rhetoric has been exposed as nothing more than empty prose. He has no vision for our future other than to divide and conquer w/his class warfare rhetoric and for a guy who used to espouse there is no Red or Blue America but only one America, he's done more to poison the well than W ever could.

He has ZERO leadership skills and he thinks his cool charm and slick speeches are enough to get things done. His budget was unanimously rejected in the Senate two years running and his signature legislation is about to be deemed unconstitutional. We've got less people working now than nearly 30 years ago and the economy is about to slide back into recession. NO, we as a country are not better off than we were 4 years ago and the prospects of us getting better with him at the helm are bleak at best according to CBO. But he's still cool and I guess that's enough for some.

I have 2 kids here age 6 and 11 and they speak both English and Chinese. My son who is the oldest reads and writes mandarin as well as my wife.

I think 10-15 years from now if you can't speak Chinese you wont be able to do business in asia. Even now their are always 2 prices. One if you speak the language and one if you don't. Americans waste time learning spanish when its the Chinese that have the money and numbers. Learn Spanish if you want to work at a hotel, learn chinese if you want to own it.

You can actually spit out all that nonsense with a straight face when your side has given us a human etch-a-sketch for an alternative?

And there was class warfare long before Obama took any office. It started when Reagan decided to go to war with the unions and began his trickle down economics that doesn't work for anyone but the rich.

If the 80's and 90's weren't the best two decades in the last 5 in terms of the economy please tell me what was better? Reaganomics worked. What doesn't work is out of control spending, government giveaways, "gov't picking winners and losers" etc...

i voted for obama. I thought he was a "leader". Unfortunately I was wrong. The good news is that ROmney isn't an extremist in the mold of so many others. He's practical. He understands how the economy works.

What does the second part of your comment have to do with him once upon a time being either middle of the road or funny?

After graduating from cornell (not exactly the bastion of conservatism) along with keith olbermann, he prudently kept his political views to himself - hardly a qualifier for middle of the road status

His stand up was just edgy enough to get his ticket punched on an HBO young comedians special. after that his political slant became brasher and bolder and more politically incorrect.

Still - not very funny - Woody Allen...Rodney Dangerfield...now they were funny.

You are almost a cartoon and caricature of the liberal left. Do you even read what you write?? If you think the class warfare argument started w/Reagan then I've got some swamp land to sell you. As for Romney and his flip flop rep, what is the biggest argument that proves he's a flip flopper??? Abortion, but he's in good company as Reagan was not always pro life nor was the 1st President Bush.

Lets face it, your counter arguments are straight out of the Lib/Dem talking points because your guy is an absolute abject failure. Being cool and making a lot of folks feel good isn't what makes a good President and Obama has about as much leadership skills as my 10 year old daughter. Romney will govern as a conservative but not an idealogue which means he'll limit the scope and scale of government and will not attempt to placate the Limbaugh/Levin far right plank which means he'll get things done and move the country past this national nightmare of Obama. Obama is an absolute and utter incompetent w/ZERO leadership skills either domestically or internationally and his slick salesman routine just ain't cutting it anymore (along w/his puppet masters Plouffe and Axelrod). Maybe there is a good used car dealer somewhere in Chicago who can employ him after the American people throw his sorry ass out of office in November!

I'm sure when Romney wins the POTUS seat I"ll be bashing him also. I think he is like most politicians and flip flop left and right. In an ideal race I wouldn't have to vote for him either. That said, he knows how to run a business and that is what we need. I hope he actually works to overturn all the BS regulations and added redtape that Obama has put in place. What he actually does is anyones guess cause he is a center-left republican and I don't trust him either.

No. Romney doesn't know what he's going to to. He'll do/say anything to get elected. Even more so than the usual politician. He's switched his opinion on pretty much everything according to which way the wind is blowing. In some things he's changed his opinion more than once. Just remember every conservative idiot on this board were all saying how Romney is a flip flopping snake in the grass during the primaries. Now all the sudden he's the savior of the nation. What a joke. You idiots may not like Obama(I doubt any of you hate him as much as you portray), but at least you know where he stands. And that's far more than anyone can say about Mitt the etch-a-sketch.

    1) "It's not worth moving heaven and earth and spend billions looking for one man" - Mitt the Flip about Bin Laden
    2) "Let Detroit fail" - Mitt the Flip about the auto industry before Obama saved it. Later he tried to take credit for the success.
    3) "Corporations are people" - Mitt the Flip

And America is not a business. If it's run like a bottom line business millions will suffer. Dubya was a businessman as well and look how that turned out. Only the 2nd worst economic crises in our countries history. And Bain Capital is his great business experience? He's a venture capitalist(vulcher) that takes over companies, gut them to the core, and resale them at a profit. Kind of like flipping houses only the houses are human beings with mouths to feed.

This thread is a great example on what the conservatives want to do this election. Scream, lie, distort, and everything else to Obama and pray that no one brings up Romney and his awfulness. It will work for the hardline repugs who would never vote for a dem anyway, but it won't work on anyone else.

  • idiotic rant of the uneducated at it's finest.... ^

We know exactly where Obama stands and thats socialism.

Dubya was a crony capitalist just like Obama---sadly, I fear Romney will be also.

We should have let the American Auto Industry fail. A new and improved company would have taken it's place. All these bailouts did was delay the inevitable and prolong the recession. Also, this is NOT the 2nd worst economic crisis no matter how much your liberal friends tell you that. The economy was far worse when Reagan took over.

Your take on Bain Capital is as wrong as every idea and false notion you attempt to espouse on here. I don't know why you bother when you are continuously proven wrong and cought in lie after lie...

Here is something for you... Obama is a LIAR and his autobiography is a big fat lie too.

Posting right wing blogger lies does not prove me wrong on anything. If anything it just damages your own credibility. Of course your credibility has been zero ever since you posted Alex Jones as a source. The only lies are spewing from you and your fellow conservatives.

Your assertion that the economy was worse when Reagan took over is flat out wrong. Ask any economist that isn't a card carrying tea party member. Of course those are just liars too, right? Maybe in some certain aspect it was but in no way was it even close to being as bad as what Dubya and his fellow repugs caused.
