I think that's a great "unnoticed" feat. The catcher plays a huge role in any no-hitter or perfect game. For a guy to have two is really impressive.

The second one's been bugging me, though. I've thought up several who have played 500 games on 3 teams, but I can't get who's done it on 4.

Got ya. I don't think I would have come up with him. He dern near played 500 games each in FIVE different stints (2 with the Mets).

Sorry. I forgot I posted this.
Runners on say 1 & 3, 1 out. Suicide squeeze, both runners take off. Bunt is popped up towards 1B. Caught as runner from 3rd slides across plate for a score. Ball thrown to 1B man to double up runner originally on first for 3rd out. However, that is not a force out. Net, the runner from 3rd's run counts UNLESS an appeal is made at 3rd for that runner leaving too early. If the appeal is made, the 4th out replaces the 3rd out double up at first.
Within the last 10-15 years, a similar play happened in the AL. The D left the field without appealing. The O team then asked if the run counted & the umps signaled to the scorekeeper to count the run.

I googled it and I read it's not possible any more. I read that it was a rule @ Fenway. Idk. I could be wrong. Just because you read it on the internet don't mean it's true.

I just read some more, and I'm assuming you mean the "automatic triple" rule, and not an actual "ground rule triple." I just found out that there's a difference. I had no idea.

LF comes out to start the game wearing a 1B mitt instead of a glove. Opposing team's manager protests saying LF not allowed to wear. Umpire duly notes. Game is played and the protest is submitted. what should be the ruling?

I'll go old school and guess Earle Combs for the Kentuckian with most HR's.

Good guess on Combs, but not him. (Although I did play on the field named for him in Richmond growing up. Had 4 or 5 of my career HRs there.)
