Nah, actually... desperate times call for desperate measures. Hell, humans have been known to eat other humans, so why not dogs? Somebody help here, but I think I remember a movie where some survivors of a plane crash decided they had to eat the dead (eachother) in order to survive. I think it was in a very cold environment... not sure. It's an old movie, but does anyone know what I'm referring to? It's amazing what humans are capable of when they find themselves in a horrid, unimaginable situation.

Damn... you just brought it all back to me. Thanks Cobby. I was still trying to wrap my brain around the idea of having to eat complete strangers in that situation... I completely forgot they were eating their own friends and teammates. Now THAT... is hard to wrap my brain around.

I am a dog lover and find this thread disgusting.

Most everyone on here are dog lovers... but some can still offer a realistic opinion as to how they and their families may survive, if they ever found themselves in such a horrific situation. People are capable of engaging in very sick, disgusting acts in the face of danger, fear and desperation.... the human animal, survival instinct takes over all your emotions and can dictate actions you have no control over. In life or death situations, we tend to do what comes natural... ACT. (THINKING, is a thing of the past). None of us want to imagine ourselves in that situation, so it's easy to say we could never do such a thing.... but in REAL life

People Eating Tasty Animals

A lot of people in India love cows, they're revered there like professional athletes are here. In the US we eat them. Dogs are loved here in the US, in Korea they're food.

And also Cow's in India are sacred due to the religion of Hinduism. . . Dog's have nothing to do with religion. . .

Mr Dog Lover, please do not visit Vietnam or most of Asia, dogs are food, I can go round the corner and buy a dog carcass or to a dog restaurant, people in the West get all misty eyed about their beloved pets and people do have pet dogs here but they aren't wandering around getting all sappy bout 'ol faithful; if times get hard poor Rover is getting flung in the kitchen and feeding the family and that's how it is!

One of the things I love out here is that people aren't as removed from killing their own meat as we are, we think chickens come as breasts, thighs and wings, here they often kill their own, people feel all sick about their personal pooch getting put on the table as food, what does it matter if its a dog, a cow or a chicken?

Meat is meat. We had pet rabbits as kids, I loved 'em to bits. Will I tuck in to a rabbit pie? You betcha.
