Game Of Thrones - Sunday

  • With all the final 4 hub bub you could easily forget about season 2 starting Sunday. I just saw a new trailer for it and it looks epic. Not the lame new meaning of the word epic. I hate that word. I mean epic as in really epic. It looks like a movie.

  • Lots of twists and turns last season, and lots of main characters getting waxed along the way. This is a really, really good show.

  • The trailers seem to be setting this season up to be the season of the imp. He better be careful though. He has a nut child for a king that kills anyone on a whim. I remember the imp slapping young joffrey in the first season. I'm betting joffrey hasn't forgotten.

  • I remember that too, and I think you're right.
The Imp is the key to the whole new season, the wildcard, as it were. Lots of other stuff in play, absolutely, but I think the Imp is the key to everything. Oh, and don't forget Ned's little girl, who is now with the traveling circus, or whatever outfit that was that she became attached to at the end of last season, albeit with little or no choice.

Yeah I really like her. She hasn't been in a lot of the previews. I've only heard one line from her. It was "anyone can be killed". That little one is going to be out for blood. I'm not sure if her character really gets rolling this season or next but I bet she will play a major role somewhere along the line. It only seems fair that she be the one to kill Joffrey. This season is going to be crazy. So many vying for the iron throne. One thing I feel comfortable with guessing, Joffrey will not be the king by the send of the season.

  • Actually, Arya-Ned Starks youngest daughter, a loveable tomboyish girl..left Kings Landing with Yoren of the Nights Watch...for the wall..not a traveling circus. Tyrion "the Imp" Lannister is without a doubt the best supporting character in a fantasy series...he is perhaps the most intelligent character in the books and thus the series. Cant wait to see how the series portrays the wildlings and others north of the wall.

That's right. And remember she and Rob Snow were the closest of the siblings. Remember he gave her her first sword before he left for the wall and you could tell she adored him. And everyone, including myself, is forgetting her brother that got pushed out the window and got crippled. He and Tyrion liked each other. Tyrion also liked Rob Snow. I think those relationships will have a bearing in season 2. They spent time on it in season 1 so you gotta think they did it for a reason.

Yes, you're correct. I forgot exactly where she was going, but you're right.

  • I just saw a new trailer. Arya is in it more and they don't show who he is talking to but Tyrion the Imp says to someone "I will hurt you for this. And your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth. Then you'll know the debt is paid." Little man aint gonna be playin this season!!!

  • Carl, where did you see this trailer?

    suncat05

  • On hbo.com I wanted to post it but it wouldn't let me. Here. I'll post the link and you can find it. You need to watch the one titled "Season 2 Tease: Nowhere To Hide". Ok I checked the link and this takes you right to it. Just click the play arrow. Oh, and I saw something else that he is saying that to Joffreys mom(forgot her name).

  • Thanks. Looks like there's going to be non-stop action and drama. I'm glad it's finally here.

  • The show lost so much of what made it great, I'm waiting to see if it can survive. A lot of what makes a series is the actors, just as much as the plot imo. Excited to see what it's going to look like now.

  • One of the greatest thing about this show is that when you usually have young actor and actress they just don't fit and to be blunt, shitty.

However, all the young actor and actress are excellent in this show.

I don't think the imp and Snow will meet up in this season. I think Snow's story is more about across the wall, unless Lannisters take over the wall i don't see how the Tyrion will ever meet up with Jon Snow.

I am just excited about this series, there isn't any TRUE main character so it's hard to say who will survive. I hear that season 2 will be far bigger and more people vying for the iron throne so many big characters will probably die.

I do agree that Joffery is a gonner. Once you are king, your life expectancy drops to 6 months.

My guess also, that imp is talking to the queen in that scene.

  • Well it just ended but I think they are encoring it all night. Good first episode. Getting everyone caught up on the story and introducing new characters. It will really start rolling next week.

Yeah, it was a great start.

Like you said, kind of reintroducing everyone back.

I had to go online and buy HBO package so i can watch this show. LOL

    Damn HBO!!!!!

So, who do you guys think will die? For people who have read the book, keep it quiet!!!

signature image signature image signature image

    Wildmoon

  • A lot of them. The better question is who do you think will live? lol I think Arya will make it through season 2. Everyone else is up in the air. Killing Ned just goes to show you anyone can die. Tyrion is obviously mad at what happened to the Starks. If he were to come to power I think he'll help them. I just worry about him. Joffrey doesn't like him. His sister doesn't like him. Jamie likes him but he's indisposed. I think Jamie somehow ends up a good guy.

  • Ned plays an important role, but not as the lead character. The character is about the next generation for the most part. I'm interested to know how many have read the books.

Tyrion plays a very important roll this season. You begin to learn more about Jon Snow and I wonder how many of you all have picked up on something extremely important to the storyline involving him through the show. It's easier to pick up in the books. I can't wait to see your all's reaction to the Night's Watch meeting up with Mance Rayder. Dude is badass.

  • Oh and that spoiler is very mild and unimportant about Mance. You all will love that character.

If you haven't read the books I encourage you to. The show is great, but the books are awesome! I'm not even a huge fantasy fan and I love them.

You're right about anyone can die. It's gonna be hard trying to discuss this without spoiling anything.

Let's see. Jon Snow. Ned Starks bastard. His stepmother, and mother of Ned's other children, hates him. Who is Snow's mother? Ned said he would tell him next time they spoke. That's not happening. Oh and I'm not literally asking you so please don't say lol Being groomed to lead. Seemed closest to Arya who is on her way to where he is, if she makes it!! What else? He killed a white walker thing or whatever they're called. Gets along with Tyrion. I guess I haven't noticed anything out of the oridinary. Are you maybe talking about his mother or standing in the family?

  • Arrya (the you Stark girl will not die) that's all ill say as far as the books. She becomes a bad ass, but then again, they don't have to follow the books.

Really enjoyed the first episode. Friday I bought season 1 on blue ray and got caught up over the weekend. Btw, I HIGHLY recommend that set to anyone who buys blue rays or loves the series. An absolute TON of bonus features and added content. There is an interactive feature you can choose during the episodes that is unreal. You can click an icon during any scene that will give you the background of each character in that seen such as liniage, history, and key points...its really really Fn cool. There's also a little poster in the box that shows the family tree of every house. Its a must have imo.

Back to season 2, you have to love how this season is truly all about the "Game of Thrones" with so many vying for the iron throne. I have my own theories of some stuff but since I've read a little of the 1st book I won't comment (I've not read enough to know a lot about season 2...by design)

What I am pretty sure about tho is that season 2 is gonna be awesome!

  • I've seen people say the series follows the books exactly. I knew Arya becomes a bad ass and she's little now so I figured she wouldn't grow up that much in one season. That's the only reason I said she's safe. How many books are there? How long can this series last? I'm hoping forever. I can't wait to see Joffrey die. I'm assuming he dies. He has to. They better not have him get a change of heart and become a good guy. In the words of Early Kyler, "that'd be a bunch a bull mess".
