That should remind you of someone else as well. Ned Stark. He is the most like his father. Another reason why Catelyn hates him so much.

This. Jon is so like Ned it's not even funny. His moral compass and obligation to honor and loyalty are what define him to a fault, just like Ned. It creates an interesting dynamic in this story.

    no,

rick is surrounded by idiots, that's his problem. Rick has killed MORE human beings than Shane did. Rick does what is needed.

However, his supporting cast is all just insane and stupid, therefore he get's into all kind of trouble.

Not true. Rick is terribly flawed just like the others. Shane was arguably the smarter of the two (big picture) just didn't have the patience or the moral standing to help the group.

I disagree. Snow has shown zero loyalty. He almost made a run for it and left the watch, he has done everything as ass backwards as possible. In fact there has only been once that he actually stayed obedient and that was when he refused to go along with sneaking one of that guys daughters out. The current predicament he is in is further proof of this. He was supposed to kill her and rejoin the group, instead he's off doing his own thing as usual.

What about when he wanted to go with Rob to war and stayed with the Night's Watch?

We shall agree to disagree. Okay?

  • Not okay. I want to talk about this lol

Snow was convinced to stay by the old man Targaryen, that and the fact that they would hunt him down and kill him for doing so. Did you watch last weeks episode? Snow was supposed to kill the girl and meet back up with the group, instead he is off doing his own thing right now. Rob Stark is his daddy's boy. A warrior, and a leader. Jon Snow would have died last season had he tried to lead a army.

Jon is making some mistakes but he's very much like Ned. I would give some more insight but I can't. The boy has every trait of his "father" but he's still a boy. You'll be surprised. You don't know nothing Jon Snow.

  • GOT is killing it in the ratings and they pick up new viewers every week. Sunday's episode had 3.8 million viewers. The only cable show to beat it and it barely beat it was one of the NBA games.

    Thoughts?

Yes, HOLY SHIT!!!! That's my thought. Holy Shit - Bullet point edition

    - Cersei's entire crying spiel to Tyrion is all a fake. To get Tyrion to let his guard down and according to the previews it works.
    - Only 2 more episodes!!!?
    - The wildling not only loves Bran but she also loves Rickon and even simple Hodor. She's clearly a good guy.
    - Whatever those burned things were they weren't Bran and Rickon.
    - I don't know what Catelyn is going to do. I'm pretty sure she won't kill him. She's too smart to let emotions rule her. I still don't like her for how she treated Jon Snow. He couldn't help being born.
    - The sexy redheaded wildling will take up for Jon Snow. He did let her live after all.
    - When the sexy redhead wildling said "you should have had me when you had the chance" I bet Jon was thinking the exact same thing lol
    - I'm so glad I'm not reading ahead of the series. Otherwise these numerous cliffhangers wouldn't be as exciting or as great when they unfold in the next 2 weeks.
    - LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!
    - I almost forgot my favorite character, cute little Arya. I have a feeling Tywin is going to check her story and find out she's not who she is claiming to be. The question is if she can kill or have him killed before he finds out the truth and if he finds out the truth what does he do with her.

  • Wow. Another wild episode. First, the warlock dude and his clan, then the burned bodies at the end.

    Good stuff.

I agree with everything you said.

No way Bran and Rickon is dead. Simply impossible to kill off Bran off this early, considering his abilities he is too special. Ability to see through a wolf, see the future, and is crippled (Which kind of adds uniqueness to him.) Also, they have 2 dire wolf.

Episode started slow, but ended strong...very strong. Love Arya and Tywin's interaction. Not sure how this will end.

Like you said..only 2 episodes. That really sucks. Plain and simple, that really sucks.

  • Weak episode. Who didn't know that girl was going to lead to trouble for Snow?

Dany and the dragons.. didn't think that side of the pond could get any more screwed up but she proves me wrong again.

Push comes to shove I'm starting to think that Joffery doesn't have a friend even within his family.

No way Theon killed the Stark boys, my bet is he didn't find them and took two of those kids to cover his ass. No one else has been burned in show, so why now unless he was trying to hide something.

Ned Stark is the Elvis of mid evil times. Just as popular dead as he was alive. He is the one topic that just about every scene has in common. From the Iron Islands to the frozen tundra behind the wall, everyone seems to mention his name weekly.

  • I almost forgot. Since I've been reading the 1st book I had a thought. I have been meaning to bring it up for a few days now but always forget. I didn't catch it in the show but reading I have a theory. Remember when they found the direwolf pups? 6 of them. 6 Stark children. Jon Snow said that they were a gift from the Gods meant for them. Ok now remember Ned killing one because the Queen commanded it? He felt guilty and even pondered who was he to kill a gift from the Gods. My theory is that is why he died. Payback for killing one of their gifts. Just a silly theory. And where is Arya's Nymeria? That's rhetorical. Don't answer please lol

  • Interesting dynamic going on with the Queen and Tyrion and (separately) Sansa right now. First time we've seen some sign of compassion there... and deep regret for spawning Joffrey.

  • Fantastic episode! There is a TON to cover in the next 2 episodes I am guessing, and I don't know how they are going to fit it all in over such a limited amount of time. A couple of thoughts....

    - The wizard/warlock guy creeps me out, but I am told (from a friend who has read the books) that we are in for a treat when they go into his "house of the undead" (or whatever it is called) over the next couple of episodes.

    - Surely the redheaded wildling is going to turn out to be good and will save Snow from sure death in the near future. I LOVE the personality of her character. Hilarious exchange between her and Snow in the minutes leading up to her breaking free. And I can't wait to see her out of the bulky snow outfit. toot

    - What is up with the weird woman in the mask with no mouth who keeps talking to Danys' protector? She kind of creeps me out too, but I fully expect her to be insanely hot if we ever see her without the mask. Will she play a larger role as the show proceeds or is she a minor character that will fade into oblivion?

    - I am actually starting to like Jamie Lannister. He is painfully honest about EVERYTHING, and I like that about him. He is a bad seed, but I am starting to think he may turn out to be the lone "good" seed out of the Lannister clan before this is all said and done. How funny was his exchange with Catelyn at the end of the episode? "Dead Ned". roflmao

    - Who is Brienne going to end up fighting? Surely she will have an epic showdown against someone at some point. SURELY!

The masked girl has me befuddled too. I want to see the house of the undead!!! They offed the entire council Al Capone style. That was pretty awesome. Jaime came across as even more evil in this episode imo. He pushed a little boy out of a window hoping for his death. He will not be a good guy, even if he performs a good deed or 2 in the future. I find it interesting that both he and Cersei are openly admitting having sex with one another. Brienne vs. The Hound? I'm not sure that would happen but that would be the fight I'd want to see. Jaime was pretty funny when he kept asking about Brienne. He just couldn't let it go lol

Cersei is going to use the compassion Tyrion showed her and blast Tyrion in the face with it. She's evil. When you think about it her compassion for Sansa is really nothing more than her feeling sorry for herself. She sees herself in Sansa and that old Cersei is who she feels sorry for, not Sansa. How has Joffrey made it this far. Even his mother knows he's a lost cause. lol

Interesting take. I never thought about his death being punishment for killing a gift from the gods. I'm sure you picked that up from the book.

Your friend is right. Pay careful attention to the scene in the House of the Undying. I believe I told Mike this while he's reading a Clash of Kings.
